He'd have to have practiced with that "bump stock" I'd think and I don't know if a target range would allow a modification like that. They might, as I said on o.p., I don't go to ranges.

Our local public ranges in Virginia are not monitored. I've absolutely left when young kids with modifications like this were acting irresponsibly and ignoring range rules and etiquette.

Note in Las Vegas gunman's hotel room included details of bullet trajectory

"I could see on it he had written the distance, the elevation he was on, the drop of what his bullet was gonna be for the crowd," Newton said. "So he had that written down and figured out so he would know where to shoot to hit his targets from there."

-Did anyone see my post with the photo asking “if the photo on the right was MD? I don’t see it now...it may have been removed? I don’t know why because it was circulated early on and now they are showing the part with him only. She looks like a younger version of MD.

Wonder why the police didn't want to release this right away and also wonder why they lied about his check in date.

My guess: it's an active investigation and not everything needs to be released to the nosy public. JMO.

Okay- I need some confirmation please . Did anyone recall reading that he was an accountant for the US Department of Defense ? If anyone had read about his plane registration (I’ll try to find the link to post), it appeared that the owner following Paddock was a company based out of Roanoke, VA, labeled as “intelligence/defense.” Im just looking for some piggyback information pertaining to this- as well as some confirmation.
Furthermore, I had also read that the man has not “had a job” since the 80s. If that is the case, his copious amount of wealth has to be coming from something other than gambling! No?

Agree, I'm banking on drug running when he was flying his planes.

Why do you think drug? I was thinking gun running!

Did he have money actively coming in or was he living off of interest from the wealth? Where is this drug/gun running stuff coming from??

OP/story mentioned that there were no rioters present when he went to his roof, and none showed up. I get what you're saying — that it's not unreasonable for someone to protect themselves and their property (like your neighbors who protected you).

However, in Paddock's instance, his behavior might have also shown that he was spoiling for a shootout. Seems to me like he might have been for quite some time.

But you would have to be present in LA during those riots to understand why someone would go on their roof with a rifle. It wouldn't matter if anyone was rioting on their street at the time, or if they ever showed up. The danger was still always present as the mobs were popping up everywhere, randomly, and without warning.

It does not mean much, that allegedly, no rioters appeared. Anyone looking at live local TV or listening to local radio, would be frightened that their neighborhood might be in danger. There were looters and rock throwers spread all over the city. 63 people died.

Are we defending the actions of a man who shot over 500 people? I am so confused as to what is happening in this thread right meow.

Law enforcement has an exceedingly complex investigation to finish, is my guess.

About police "lying," I'm not sure they did. Did they say they did? At least, it's not mentioned in the link you shared, and information gets jumbled and communications pathways can fail in the immediate aftermath of a crisis the size of this one. Not everything is yet known. Not sure it was intentional.

I get it. I'm very aware of what happened during those riots.

This thread is about the massacre in Vegas; I was speaking about the shooter. Besides, neither of us has any clue where most WSers were in the 90s.

Yes, I know that, but this is web sleuths and I'm wondering why they wouldn't want to disclose what was on the note and why they would lie about the check-in date and say it was the 28th instead of the 25th.

Any thoughts?

Was it a verbal report or a written one? Typo?

A point of clarification. I’m not sure why the media is reporting it this way, but the reports are that there is tannerite and ammonium nitrate found in his car.

Tannerite is a binary explosive primarily made of ammonium nitrate. In its bought form, ammonium nitrate is separate from the aluminum component. Unmixed tannerite is literally a container of ammonium nitrate. I don’t like the almost misleading way this is being presented by the media.
