Especially since it says he was shot in the thigh. The bullet miraculously missed a major artery. But the SG continued to help evacuate the 32nd floor until LE forced him to get medical attention?

I am not sure what you are insinuating here. Yea, lucky for security guy, the bullet must have missed a major artery, or he could have bled to death. But what is your point, exactly?

I took it as he didn’t hear anything like shooting at the time, that everything seemed normal. JMO

I only watched the link from twitter so I’m not sure if there is a longer clip, but it seems like there were a lot of rounds fired into the hallway.

I did too at first, but then I changed my mind. So I went back and re-listened and now I am not sure what he meant because he said he was called there to investigate a fire exit door that would not open, not a door with an alarm. So now I'm not sure what to think.

The problem I have with the LE narrative is not that the investigation is fluid ( which they always are). The problem is that certain definitive proclamations were made, i.e. only one shooter, no link to terrorism which could not have been certain at that time. Judging from the lack of certainty now, those statements should never have been made.

This is a big city with the lives of millions of tourists and residents in its hands. The amateur way this investigation has played out is unacceptable. The sheriff should stop trying to pat everyone on the back, take a giant step back and start retracing everything.

The truth matters not from a nosy, exploitative reason, but because at this moment no one is safe until we know for sure there was nothing else in motion and no accomplices.

Investigation is fluid, but some fundamental information, such as timeline, presumably should have been established quickly before making erogenous claims. There were two people inside the hotel shot at, that we know of-a security guard and a hotel engineer (sometimes described as a "maintenance worker), before suspect started shooting at people outside. We know for sure that at least the engineer radioed hotel and asked them to call the police, because msm obtained that recording. So how hard was it to establish the timeline?

Yes! When finally admitting the real shooting timeline, the sheriff was defensive and said something about trying to assuage people's fear. How can they not know these inaccuracies make us more fearful not less because it makes them seem freaking incompetent?

full video of the vista suite from 2009... for layout. Why did he need the additional room? and why would they give it to him without reason? Even as a high roller, on that kind of weekend, they don't just throw in a room 'for fun', unless he told them he had a guest and needed 2 bedrooms. There is more to the story. Doors being unlocked between them, he had the room service cart in front of THAT door, not the suite door, per diagram. 2 exits, stairs right there. Easy for someone to slip out and into either another room or down the hall after the shooting started, or before police got there. TOO easy.

Because he did not want someone else renting the room?

My understanding he needed two rooms because one room had a view of fuel tanks and the other of the concert. Sure looks to me like he hoped that fuel tanks would blow up after he shoot them.

Confusion is to be expected in a massive event like this one. Has anyone here ever worked as a cops reporter? Early reports are often modified as facts come in, even on "small" events like wrecks and arrests. I can't begin to imagine how strained communications systems became in the immediate aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting. Everyone (the public) demanded/expected answers to everything within 24 or so hours, then flew into conspiracy rages when they didn't get it. Or if they got information about a developing investigation that was updated or changed. It's a catch-22. It's not "bad reporting." It's the nature of the beast. This investigation is bigly huge. The biggest.

I know from talking with my friend whose daughter was there but in the street and had not been at the concert, she was so terrified she could not think or speak. She saw nothing except people running and screaming. She and her friend are traumatized. All they knew when they were running was that someone screamed that there was an active shooter. They did not inow where they were running to because they did not know anything about where the shooter was.

They were about one block from the shooter and my friend’s daughter cannot remember if she heard gun shots.

If you can imagine the chaos of that time with thousands of people screaming and running. The rumors flying and people imagining things. It sounds daunting to figure anything out.

And the demanding public wanting answers. And people who are saying things because they think it is true and people saying things because they want to .

Think about how often you have been in a situation.A benign situation and others have a totally different view of things. Throw in panic and imagine the views of things

I can’t. It’s frankly absurd at this point. I feel like if people want to entertain conspiracy theories they should probably go elsewhere since WS doesn’t allow conspiracies to be discussed. If you google, there is no shortage of conspiracy websites. This is not one of them.

ETA the constant thinly veiled accusations and conspiracies are ruining it here for me too. Recently I’ve been on a couple threads with some conspiracies but not nearly as bad as this one. I am not into conspiracies at all and it’s getting hard to participate in threads without running into them

Same here. I'm wondering if there is a way to "mute" the people responsible for these posts so I can eliminate them from the feed I view and get through this quicker, viewing only the real issues.

I am just hung up on loss of time -- he planned stuff so ya get a bunch of machine guns all lined up by one window , loaded.

One overheats or runs out you bend down ( bend down time (!) approx 0.23 a sec!) pick up the next one and fire --rinse and repeat

putting one down running across the suite , , in the dark , with guns and stuff all over the floor , (trip hazard?) picking up another one , get aimed , and starting again is def a loss of time

Maybe he thought somehow his firing spot could be located so he was going to switch to the other one to fool them.

Yeah, but did you see the latest quote from Sheriff (in above link to LV review/journal) thanking the FBI for relieving sheriff officers so they could attend to 'other crimes'. Seems we may be getting a subtle shift of power here. FBI taking over?

From the way Steve Wynn explained it concerning his casino or casinos comps are not based on wins or losses but are given based on the amount of playing time each player plays at one time consistently. He said they didn't care how much money anyone spent or lost. Their main objective is to have players sitting there who spend hours playing whatever is their choice...whether slots, video poker or cards or other table games.

That makes sense to me even though I have never really given it much thought until now. My husband and I do gamble at the card tables when we go to the casinos four or five times a year staying 7-8 days at time. We have been consistently lucky more than unlucky and usually walk away with much more than we spent yet we are given comps for suites, spas, food, and even given cash. But when we do play we play for hours at a time and the pit bosses are constantly tracking the time spent at the poker table at one time.

Many times we play up to 10 hours if the cards are going our way. I am sure they do notate which section each of the players are in and they would know the high roller section players would be given higher comps than those who play table games with a minimum $10 bet with a $25 maximum bet like the tables we play.

When we go we never have to pay for our suite on the upper floors, or any food. and the drinks whether water, soft drink or alcohol are always comped. We have had wine in our room and chocolates upon arriving at times and even gifts from their gift shops. We are not high rollers by any stretch of the imagination but we do usually windup bringing much of the money we took back home with us and played on house money for the majority of the time.

We wont be home a week until they are sending us more freebies or comps.

Interesting. The sitting all day is considered to be worse for you than smoking. Are you able to get up and go for breaks? How do you keep your spot to go to the bathroom? Is there smoking in the casino?

I cannot tell you how many venues I worked security that would tell us NEVER call the police EVER. cover their mode.

Interestng. No police report, no evidence of problems because police reports are public and inhouse would be their own info. They don’t want the public to know how many problems there are in the hotels and the nature of those problems
