IMO many people are going by his earlobes.
The myth is that earlobes are either Attached or Detached.
The earlobes on the body are not the same as the earlobes in the photos posted of SP prior to death.
That much I agree with, but I won't try and explain why.
There are many reasons from the angle the photo was taken to earlobe surgery, to explain why they do not look the same.

Nor do ears stay the same over time.
