Thanks for sharing your cryotherapy experience w us.
I was envisioning equipment that totally enclosed the person, a sealed chamber and had other misimpressions.

Any links to suggest - about RA use or about 'cryofacial' use I ref'ed to in several posts upthread? Thx in adv.

I can say that cryo has helped alleviate a lot of pain associated with my RA, but of course hasn't been a cure by any means. Ironically, cyro is better for me when the weather gets colder and I start to creak and crack.

As for the facial aspect, I have never seen these machines where I've gone. I am usually in a sports therapy aspect of cyro sessions, so not many beauty things offered there but the industry has picked up in that niche market.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with it. It helps us to understand.

I think the person did breathe in the gasses and passed out and then died from the gasses and lack of good oxygen.

That picture of it looks dangerous even if someone was present because if the person passed out and crumpled to the floor then it would be almost impossible for a helper to try to pull the person up.

I do understand why the treatments may help in certain situations although it does seem rather different than conventional treatments. I suppose its a very personal decision if one ever elects to use this type of treatment.

ETA: I looked closer at the picture and there does seem to be a door with hinges so long as someone is on outside they could open door to drag someone out so not as dangerous as I thought so long as someone is present.

Maybe the person who died had done this before on her own and got too careless and breathed in too many gasses.

Was Henderson cryochamber an oxygen deficient atmosphere which would cause Nitrogen Asphyxiation Death? Does system normally pump oxygen into chamber so person inside can breathe? Is NA^ more likely than temp as CoD? Maybe we need patience until autopsy report is released.
Med professionals? Anyone?

The head is sticking out of the chamber. The chamber is not enclosed. They are breathing room air. But if the head isn't sticking out far enough they could be breathing in nitrogen.

What's the minimum height requirements. And do you stand on a stool inside if you're short? Maybe her pain was near her neck so she chose to be more lower in there. Idk. R.i.p young lady.

I wonder what happened, how, and why. IIRC, Ake-Salvacion did not have license to operate. Puzzling to me that she would use equipment to treat herself - or anyone - if she had safety concerns.

"....Ake-Salvacion had sent text messages expressing her concerns about liquid nitrogen leaking from and being overdelivered by the machines at Rejuvenice, according to attorney Richard Harris of Las Vegas. Harris heads one of the law firms the family has retained to investigate exactly what went wrong the night she died.
"...."Either way, in my opinion, that machine is per se defective for allowing that to happen, one way or another," Harris said....Alternative designs, better ventilation and safety protocols could have prevented Ake-Salvacion's death, Harris said...."
"Cryotherapy entrepreneurs say the proper operation of the equipment poses few risks to users who say the treatments help their bodies detoxify, improve circulation, and reduce pain and inflammation. The three Rejuvenice locations were closed last month for insurance-related reasons and have yet to reopen.

"After homicide detectives reviewed evidence gathered in the initial investigation, Las Vegas police announced last week that Ake-Salvacion's death was not a criminal incident. State health and business officials are investigating because of lingering questions about public and workplace safety." bbm sbm
