Recovered/Located NV - Curtis Knode Last Seen Walking in North Las Vegas - Deaf & Mute - Diminished Mental capacity

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The North Las Vegas Police Department needs help finding a missing man.

Charles Knode, 57, was last seen walking near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Bruce Street on Dec. 23, just before midnight.

Authorities said Knode is deaf and mute and has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old. He's physically frail, has a hernia, and walks with a limp.

Knode is described as a white male, about 5'10", weighing 140 pounds, with long gray hair and a gray beard. He was last seen wearing a light-blue Bud Light shirt, a white jacket, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Knode is asked to contact NLVPD at (702) 633-9111.

It does appear his name is Curtis as in the flyer above and below - Charles "Chuck" is his brother. This family flyer version mentions a tidbit that he was last seen being released from the hospital before going missing:

Yes, I think it was misreported in the beginning and his name is Curtis and that Charles (Chuck) is the brother. Maybe someone can alert the thread so the title can be changed?

I hope he is able to be found soon and brought back safely. We need to keep candles lit for our disabled and/or elderly MPs IMO (not that he's elderly).

He was released from a hospital? I'd think they'd have waited until he had a ride, since it was midnight and he is special needs patient. I don't get it.

I have to wonder if there is maybe information that we don't know yet? I would really hope they wouldn't release him without a ride with his disability. I'm picturing a scenario where he was brought home and perhaps wandered off? Of course there is little info out at this point...

I am also wondering about his living situation, because I think it's relevant to the circumstances. I am wondering if he's living in a nursing home, subsidized housing for disabled folks, with his brother Chuck and/or other relatives, or something else? Since it's Chuck's phone # that's being circulated, could be a possibility. I can't imagine how worried his family must be.

UPDATE: North Las Vegas Police Department reported that Curtis Knode has been located on Jan. 10.
