A missing persons report from Metro says Reza was wearing a long-sleeve blue shirt and blue jeans and may need medical attention.

Red Rock Search and Rescue, Metro and the Air Force 34th Weapons Squadron Rescue pararescue specialists were joined by local hikers and 4X4 drivers in the search.

This is the same MSM article linked in Post #1, but on FB. Interesting replies under a comment by HK, concerning which trail and location of vehicle:

I'm really surprised that this new, blue backpack wasn't spotted in any of the searches. I'm really worried about Daniel. Even though the weather hasn't been extreme in this location, there isn't much water in the area, which would make survival difficult.

Daniel Reza Update (9/17/19)
  • Daniel has not been located.
  • The search continues by METRO and RRSAR and also includes local hiking groups who have located several items that warranted further attention.
  • RRSAR deployed twice last week to locate and disqualify these items as being related to Daniel or his gear. One example was a blue object below a fallen tree which was an old blue fanny pack, unrelated to Daniel's case.
  • RRSAR will not give up, and ask that as you ascend the mountain, please continue to keep a sharp eye out for Daniel or his gear.
  • If you observe something, please take a few photos and gather GPS with the location, and forward them to [email protected].

Every time I see Daniel's thread with a new post, I hope that someone hiking the Mt. Charleston area has noticed Daniel's bright blue backpack. I feel sorry for Daniel and for his worried family, and I hope that he will someday be found.

RIP Daniel. It’s a vast wilderness area, so in some ways, I guess I’m not surprised he hasn’t been found. But it is very extensively hiked and well-explored. I wouldn’t think he’d get far with limited water and hiking in blue jeans, so I would think he’s close by. He must have just headed straight off-trail. Jmo
