Former Playboy model Kelsey Turner and her boyfriend Logan Kennison have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder in the death of psychiatrist Dr. Thomas Burchard, and both have pleaded not guilty to all charges. It has been reported that Burchard was helping Turner financially, and when he threatened to cut her off, the pair allegedly killed him. Kennison tells Access Hollywood's Zuri Hall his side of the story during an exclusive interview at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he and Turner are awaiting trial.

2/4/22 Update: Motion to sever trials-denied. Next settlement conference hearing on 2/10/22, Calendar call hearing on 6/17/22 & trial will now begin on 6/27/22.

*Diana Nicole Pena – Pena agreed to plead guilty to a reduced charge & could get probation or up to five years in prison for her felony conviction & will testify at trial(s). Arraignment hearing on 6/11. 6/11/19: Plead guilty. Out on bail. Will be sentenced after Kennison & Turner’s trial.

Is this the most up to date info for the trial? My son was engaged to her just a few weeks before the murder. He luckily got away from that craziness. I wonder if the truth will come out in the trial. I'm definitely true crime obsessed and I'm really curious about this case.

Thanks! The story is well pieced together now.

The situation escalated when Turner looked through Burchard's messages with her moth(sic) and found "pornographic photos" sent between the two of them.

She threatened to report him to CHOMP if he didn't pay up.

So - the real reason for killing the doctor was she tried to blackmail him with discovery of the photos - not that she was so distressed about his relationship with her mother. When he refused, she and her boyfriend flew into a murderous rage.

That's not why she was blackmailing him. He gave her a lot of money. Why would he do this? He was paying for a long time and not just to help her out. She had something on him that would have completely ruined his reputation. It will come out in trial I bet.

Turner's mother, Samantha, told KSBW that Kelsey and Burchard had known each other for years. Burchard had paid the rent on a home in Salinas where Kelsey and her mother, and Kelsey's children all lived.

A neighbor confirmed that Kelsey and her family lived at the home for "about a year".

"In fact, there were calls for police on a few occasions," Marcelino Alejandro, who lived next door to Turner in Salinas, said. Marcelino also said there were also parties and disturbances.

An anonymous source who originally told Action News that Burchard was renting out the Salinas home, said Turner moved to Las Vegas after Burchard stopped paying rent on the home.

The source said that Burchard met Turner online and was giving Turner and her mother, "Anywhere from two-four thousand dollars a week, easily."

The source told KSBW that the last thing Burchard said to him before leaving for his deadly Las Vegas trip was, "seems Kelsey is having trouble with her boyfriend out there in Vegas because he's hitting her. He's abusing her and she has no money, no where to go. He says I feel partially responsible for this."

According to Turner's Facebook page, she is in a relationship with Greg Hagio.

Action News uncovered court documents from January that state Hagio was arrested for strangulation and domestic battery in Las Vegas. Charges would ultimately be dropped in the case.

She was not in a relationship with Greg Hagio at the time. They broke up just weeks before this.
