Looks like she could be a possibility for Jane Doe. It’s a distance but she could have left willingly. Wonder if the suspect mentioned had any ties to RI.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Last seen on November 4th, 1971 at Archie's Tavern in Pawtucket, RI where she received a phone call from a male after which she immediately left. Her car was recovered by her husband three days later at the Holiday Inn in South Attleboro, MA.

Lynda Joan Hanley could be a possible match, she and jane doe both have dentals available so if you could do a comparison of their dentals.

"Body Found Near Elko As Yet Unidentified," Deseret News [Salt Lake City, UT], 24 July 1972, 12F.

Law officers of Elko County, Nev., said they have been unable to identify the body of a woman found shot July 14 on a knoll near a ranch road between Elko and Wells.

The woman was described as between 20 and 25 years old, with shoulder length, reddish blond hair. She was about five feet, two inches tall, and weighed about 110 pounds.

Sye [sic] also had a scar on the lower right knee, an appendectomy scar and very attractive and well formed teeth.

She died sometime between July 8 and 13, according to the Elko County Sheriff's Office. Fingerprints have been sent to the FBI.

No clothes were found near the body. The victim appeared to have pierced ears.

A Starr Valley rancher discovered the nude, spreadeagled body on a knoll about 11 miles south of Interstate Highway 80 midway between Elko and Wells. Investigators found no identification, clothing or jewelry in the area.

He added the victim was missing her lower right, second bicuspid tooth, and bore the scar of an appendictomy [sic].

The victim had been shot twice through the head, and extreme heat caused rapid decomposition. Officials believe the victim died between July 8 and July 15.

Bump! I think this case is tied to other cases in Elko county (devil's gate, thousands springs, and, maybe, shafter). Maybe the maniac was the religious fanatic? This could explain explain the cross pose in this case in Starr Valley and in the Shafter case. And also it can explain to a burning in the Thousands Springs case. Maybe we should form the list of possible victims in Nevada and other states? Maybe in Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico and so on around Interstates. These poor girls.
