''LAS VEGAS (KLAS)– Las Vegas metro police discovered human remains inside a man’s truck during an arrest on Thursday, sources told sister station KLAS.

The driver, Eric Holland, 57, ran from officers and was tasered during a traffic stop near the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on Thursday, sources said.

I hope they are able to identify the victim soon. Who knows how long he's had that in a cooler!

I know who the victim was. Not sure if I'm allowed to say who so I won't. The victim was known for being into some "shady stuff" so I assume he got involved with a deal gone wrong of some sort. A good friend of his had been trying to get a hold of him for over six weeks. Now we know why.

Wow!!!!! I hope LE identifies soon. You'll have to tell us if you're right once they do!

Suspect in Vegas severed head case a prior felon, prosecutor says | abc10.com
''LAS VEGAS (AP) - A prosecutor in Las Vegas says a 57-year-old man jailed after police found the severed head and body parts of an acquaintance in the truck he was driving has prior felony and federal criminal convictions dating to the 1980s in states including California, Texas and Nevada.

Eric Holland appeared in court Tuesday flanked by heavily armed security guards and an attorney temporarily appointed to his case. His attorney later declined to comment.

Holland is being held without bail.

He was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop on an allegedly stolen truck in Las Vegas. Police say he tried to flee the scene but was taken into custody. Officers discovered human remains, including a severed head, in the truck.

“The victim is literally cut into pieces,” said Prosecutor Giancarlo Pesci in court. “His head is cut off.”

Lawyer claims Las Vegas man happened to steal truck with head, other body parts inside

Um what?!

ETA: from article:

Judge Harmony Letizia agreed to not grant Holland bail. His next court appearance was set for Jan. 27.
SBBM
The suspect accused of killing a man was a victim of circumstance by stealing a vehicle that happened to have body parts, including a severed head, in the back, his defense attorney said Tuesday.

Really? Uh, no. Holland isn't a "victim" of anything except his own greed & evilness. I'm glad to see the judge didn't buy that story.

Lawyer claims Las Vegas man happened to steal truck with head, other body parts inside

"Eric Holland faces a murder charge after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police conducted a vehicle stop on Dec. 23 on a Toyota Tundra with a suspended registration. Police said they followed the vehicle before Holland was seen driving a gold Chevrolet Avalanche.

LVMPD found a severed head and body parts in several coolers inside the second truck, according to an arrest report."

I'm so confused by this wording. How did the second truck come into play?
