'We need my sister to come home:' Family seeks answers in Jawaher Hejji's disappearance | KSNV (news3lv.com)
[...]

Her mother, who requested not to be filmed, or named, stays up at night with unanswered questions.

"Where is my daughter? What happened to her? Is she right now live? She's not live? I don't know nothing," she said.

Family and friends describe her as a beautiful, kind young woman who was planning on getting her real estate license soon and spent a lot of time with her family.

[...]

"How did she end up here? How? And why," asked her mom.

"My sister is not the type to go walking by herself on a hike," said MH. "She's not the type to go past a big gate, and go and park on a construction site. This is not Jawaher."

Her friend DK begs anyone with any information to come forward.

[...]

Meanwhile, her family is planning a %22%7D']march in front of Las Vegas Metropolitian Police Department headquarters on Mar. 4 to push for further answers in her case.

On the Las Vegas Metro Police Dept FB page, there are many interesting comments under Jawaher’s missing post, dated Feb 25.
Facebook

Many are family members, it seems.

There’s a comment by “Finding Jawaher” that says:

Finding Jawaher the construction worker told us the Jawaher was sitting in her car for 2 hours before getting out and walking. She was seen walking at 4:30pm on the surveillance camera.”
2d

If she was simply going for a solo hike, seems odd to sit and wait for that long before heading out. Unless, she was on a long call with someone and wanted to finish the call before heading out. But why did she leave the keys atop the car? I’ve heard of runners leaving the keys in a moderately hidden place, such as on top of the tire or on the ground next to the tire. To leave it on top of the car sounds like she was either totally distracted and her mind was completely preoccupied so she mistakenly did that, OR she didn’t care what happened to the car, or wanted it to get stolen, maybe? Odd.

The family was supposed to have a March for her yesterday but they abruptly canceled it on Wednesday due to a "family emergency".

I-Team: ‘Why is she walking there?’ Missing woman sat in car for 2 hours, left phone before vanishing near construction site | KLAS (8newsnow.com)
Jawaher Hejji, 26, sat in her car for two hours and left her car keys and phone behind just before she disappeared, her family told the I-Team.

[...]

“I think somebody kidnapped her. That’s what I believe,” MH, Jawaher’s sister said. “There’s no way, there’s no way at all that she wouldn’t contact us for this long.”

[...]

Jawaher had never been to the site and does not hike on her own, MH said. According to the family, construction was active during the time Jawaher was sitting in her car and they hope someone who was on site may be able to provide information to police.

“How would she even know there was a trail over there, like in the construction area?” MH said.

[...]

A police dog tracked Jawaher down the trail toward another residential area, but lost the track near a road, her family said. Several searches, including one cadaver dogs, Red Rock Search & Rescue volunteers, drones, and helicopters have all come up with no answers.

[...]

“We will find her. There’s no way she just disappeared like that,” MH said. “We do believe that she will come home soon, and we will find her.”

From the 8newsnow link PommyMommy provided:

In addition to sitting in her car and placing her keys on its roof, all of Jawaher’s belongings and her phone were left behind, her family said. The phone however does not provide any clues because its messages and call history were wiped.”

The sister thinks Jawaher was kidnapped, and who knows, she may be right, but you can’t say Jawaher’s actions weren’t strange! Why did she sit in her car for 2 hours? Why did she put the keys on top of the car?Why did she leave her phone and belongings behind? Why was her phone wiped (did she do that)? She was seen walking solo, so didn’t seem coerced into doing these things. Just feels deliberate on her part.

We’ve heard nothing of the bf she was living with. What does he have to say? Why haven’t we heard him referenced in the timeline of events? What did she tell him, if anything, before she left?

So many questions.

Agreed!
Why did she sit in her car for 2 hours?
Her phone being wiped is alarming.
What was her reasoning behind leaving her keys on the top of her car?

Why did she sit in her car for 2 hours?

I must admit, I've done this on occasions when I'm feeling a bit sad or just need to sit and think and chill out for a bit....1-2 hours alone, in silence, with no interuptions is sometimes good for the soul. It can give you the head space to make decisions, about little things, about big things.

Maybe Jawaher's decisions weren't the best, but she sat and thought first, which is good.
Suicide does seem a strong possibility. Wipe your phone, leave your keys, off you go.....
MOO

True. I guess everything bundled together makes her actions appear strange. If it were just a single action (like sitting in the car for 2 hrs) it wouldn’t seem as questionable.

Thanks @jenpil for your thoughts and perspective!

When I say her behaviors were strange to me, what I mean is that they are strange or unusual IF this was meant to be just a simple drive, park the car, and hike the trail kind of trip. As you said, she had time to think what she was about to do. As I put it, her actions seemed deliberate. JMO

I hope her family is able to find what has happened to Jawaher.

An aside: her sister says in the video that Jawaher has never been to that location before. I wonder how she can know for sure? I was thinking to myself I sure don’t know everything my grown sisters do or places they go! o_O

Is it clear to anyone where she was last seen walking—exactly?

Was she walking ON the construction site where they were building homes, or was she on the Amargosa trail?

On Shaded Canyon Dr, near Integrity Point Ave, I see “Amargosa Trailhead - Shaded Canyon”. But from photos it looks like she parked further up Shaded Canyon and was walking actually in the place where the housing lots are, and not on the trail.

Not clear to me either.
  1. Her car was found on Shaded Canyon Dr. near the construction site.
  2. In the video, she is walking near the construction site toward the trail.
  3. A police dog tracked her down the trail toward another residential area, but lost the track near a road, per her family.
Lennar at Tresor Construction to Amargosa Trail - Google Maps
The construction is south of the Lennar at Tresor marker, so was she actually walking south to some other entrance to the trail?

Then there's this...

I-Team: ‘Why is she walking there?’ Missing woman sat in car for 2 hours, left phone before vanishing near construction site | KLAS (8newsnow.com)
Investigators released video of Jawaher walking next to the construction site of the Lennar at Tresor, last month. In it, Jawaher is seen walking down the trail, until she disappeared from view.

News3lv article, 4/11/21:
“The family has no idea why she was there. They said Jawaher wasn't into hiking and would never leave her phone unattended.

"She was a happy person," said her sister. "She loved her family a lot, especially my mom. She would never just leave my mom like that. Not me, my sister, especially my mom. She would never leave her like that.” “

Family continues to beg for answers after 26-year-old woman vanished four months ago

And in a post from the Finding Jawaher FB page dated 4/12/21, it says she has been missing for 109 days, and police have searched multiple times with drones, scent dogs and on foot and did not find anything. It said the police told the family it’s going to be an inactive case.

Finding Jawaher

I thought it was interesting, the fact that Jawaher “wasn’t into hiking”.
I still wonder why the bf she was reportedly living with (I’m sure I read) has not been quoted in the news articles nor on the Finding Jawaher page. What does he think? Was he the last to see her? IMO

She was seen alone on video!! We want so badly to not believe where allllll the evidence is leading. Let's say someone lured her.... then she wouldn't leave her stuff on the car! Luckily she was seen on video. And luckily she did things that wouldn't make sense if it was just a normal walk and she met with foul play. Or lots of innocent people could really be accused of lots of stuff.

IMO, you’ve made very valid points. I agree it’s quite difficult to “give yourself permission” to believe what has most likely happened in this case. Loved ones desperately try to find any and all reasons that may prove otherwise. (and understandably so)
For example in the article @slowpoke posted above her family stated, “she would never leave her phone unattended.”
But yet, she did.

Exactly. In another case I just followed, it was similar. The boyfriend HAD to have done something to her because she wouldn't just leave and not contact her mom and kids.... and yet she did. No harm from the boyfriend.

I'm here and follow true crime like the rest of us. But sometimes, we have to be ok being uncomfortable with the fact that people choose to go missing or choose self harm, even when we don't want to believe it. To me, in this case, the writing is clearly on the wall.

Looks that way to me as well, BF needs to weigh in here, all the items left in the car and keys on top (in many circles that means signing off/ outta here) .
Could she have been waiting for someone ? And that's what sitting for a couple of hours, absolutely. Question is could that have been the plan ? Did she know this person ? Or was she waiting for BF ?
Prayers for Jawaher and her family and friends. I hope you are found safe and soon.
Please call your family if you are able. MOO.
