When the search for JH began, the construction site was searched several times as well as the Green Valley area where she could have walked. Las Vegas locals are still asked to be on the lookout for her.

That desert has so many hiding spots.

They need to investigate whomever she associated with in 2016. They closed the case and she was never sentenced so it looks like to me she took a deal and probably testified against someone that went to prison for it. Could be an ex boyfriend that just got out of prison

Here is the link to Las Vegas Justice Court, where her arrest(s) originated from. From the main menu, go to 'View and Pay Criminal Records,' complete the captcha, and then choose 'Defendant' in the drop-down 'Search By' menu: https://lvjcpa.clarkcountynv.gov/Anonymous/default.aspx

However, she was bound over to Clark County District Court for a competency evaluation. After she was found competent, her case was transferred back to Justice Court, where it could not be resolved (so, she didn't take a deal at that time). Eventually, she was bound back over to District Court for a final time. During her Initial Arraignment, she entered into a Guilty Plea Agreement. Her sentencing hearing was a couple months after that and resulted in a 12-48 month suspended sentence; she was required to complete an indeterminate period of probation (of up to 4 years) to avoid serving that prison time. Notwithstanding the probation violations, she was honorably discharged from probation on 11/5/2020- less than 2 months before she went missing. That case can be searched on the Eighth Judicial District Court Inquiry website, under District Criminal/Civil Records: https://www.clarkcountycourts.us/Anonymous/default.aspx

She was ultimately found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery, but I couldn't find any information on her alleged co-conspirators. Furthermore, she was arrested for DUI (and other driving-related offences) in 2018. You can view the court minutes within her District Court records; it seems that alcohol abuse and mental health concerns were a common theme during her probation.

Las Vegas group continues to search for missing woman

May 24
It's been over five months since a 26-year-old Las Vegas area woman named Jawahar Hejji was last seen.

"Project Desert Angels" search and rescue team held a search today at the trail near the base of Black Mountain.

Members gathered in hopes to find any clues that will lead them to Jawahar.

But organizers say the trail she was last seen on has some obstacles.

"The trail out here is a fairly easy trail about up to the last half-mile," said Michael Runion, acting PIO of Project Desert Angels. "The last half mile is a little bit of a scramble over some rock. But there are some nasty cliffs out here that you could potentially slip and fall. Especially during the winter time."

The area she disappeared from is practically my "backyard," so this whole case literally haunts me. From the way the police and media handled it (delayed notification to the public, incorrect initial information, etc), to the questions that her loved ones leave unanswered, to the lack of new details, I can't get it out of my head. I never realized she'd had any criminal cases before yesterday. She seems to have some mental health concerns, so I don't think suicide can be ruled out. But they should've found her body if that was the case. Her family had mentioned feeling uneasy about some of the individuals that saw her last, and that's another possibility. The video of her walking up the walkway to the trail, she doesn't look like someone who isn't coming back, despite the fact that she stayed in her car for two hours before the video recorded her. The construction is practically finished- if someone did something to her, I don't think they would've had to go far to conceal her fate. Just drives me nuts!!! Poor girl and her poor family :(

She seems to have some mental health concerns

The very first initial reports included that she was in emotional distress.
I can’t recall if we ever found out the circumstances behind why.
I’ll go back through her thread and see if it was ever stated.
Anyone recall?

She was last seen Dec 22, but last seen on video Dec 23 (construction site).
Dec 23 is the date in which video caught her sitting in her car for 2 hours before leaving her belongings inside the vehicle and her keys on the hood.
Dec 26 (3am) is when the family was notified her car had been found.

So her vehicle sat there for a few days with the keys on the hood and nobody noticed it before then or messed with it, etc?

Did anyone even notice she was missing before the car was found? Christmas was right in the middle of this time frame.

I-Team: ‘Why is she walking there?’ Missing woman sat in car for 2 hours, left phone before vanishing near construction site | KLAS

Details that stand out to me:
•she sat in her car for two hours
•then left her car keys on the hood of her car and phone behind just before she disappeared
•hiking alone isn’t something she does
•the construction site was active when she disappeared.
•this is not a place she often visited
•her phone’s messages and call history was wiped clean
•she abandoned her car (with keys on hood) on the 23 Dec; it was found 26 Dec; and it was never noticed or bothered in this time frame
•her scent was tracked to a road near a residential area close by but then lost

I feel like wiping her call history and messages from her phone and leaving her keys on the hood of her car is significant. These are things you intentionally do; they’re not accidentally or mindlessly done IMO.
Now her reasons for doing so??

IIRC from one of her sister's social media posts, her family had tried to report her missing on the 22nd or 23rd to no avail. They were able to report her missing Christmas day, I believe. Her car was found in Henderson, NV, but she was reported missing in Las Vegas, NV, and as sad as it is, I'm not surprised there was a disconnect. Henderson Police Department had called her family and told them to come get the abandoned vehicle; I'm sure the family had mentioned during that call that Jawaher was missing, but HPD was only concerned with them taking possession of the car. I believe HPD said they'd follow up on her disappearance later in the day on 12/26.

I could see the car sitting unattended for a few days without too much concern. I think it was parked, rather than just in the middle of the dirt road that may have needed to be traveled on. Henderson is regarded as quite a safe city, and while this part isn't as affluent as some other areas, it is far from being considered the "bad" side of town.

I'm so bothered that nothing was mentioned about her being missing for at least 2 weeks after her car was found. We could no longer access the footage from the date she left her car and honestly, there's very little the public could do to assist so long after the fact.

I think this case does point to self harm due to the way the car and possessions were left, the only thing that makes me pause is the fact they said the dogs followed her scent and lost the trail as it was heading/going towards a residential district? Can any locals elaborate on what residential place that may have been?

Oh my. Well, the major legal troubles certainly adds another dimension to Jawaher’s state of missingness (is that a word?)

I was looking back at a video of her walking the construction site, and in the comments the “Finding Jawaher” wrote:

Finding Jawaher Where is the rest of the footage? Where is the footage of Jawaher “circling the mountain” like the detectives said. Why won’t LVMPD show us the whole video????

I wonder what “circling the mountain” means? And how do detectives know she did this?

Every time I go to Vegas to visit family, I am amazed at how long I can sit in my parked car and not encounter another car while sitting in their neighborhood. People pretty much ignore each other too. You can live in a house for years and never know the people in your neighborhood. Yes, I’m aware you can do the same thing in any city. But Las Vegas is the only one where it takes very little effort.

I’m presuming, but think the family is Muslim and do not celebrate Christmas (article quotes a sister saying, “Please Allah bring her home.”
However, it was said she and a sister spoke every day, so I’m sure the family was aware. Plus, she was living with a boyfriend, so he surely noticed she was missing—I would think.

The family could very well be Muslim but Allah is the word for “God” in the Arabic language and used by Muslims and Christians.
