THE DETAILS

An unknown suspect is wanted in the kidnapping of Karla Rodriguez on October 20, 1999. She was last seen around 7:00 p.m. after leaving a friend's house near her home in the 700 block of St. Louis Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was wearing a black jacket, a blue and white striped shirt and red pants. Her finger nails were painted green.

Circumstances: Karla did not attend school, but may have been seen by playmates at approximately 7:00 p.m. on October 20, 1999, in the area of the 800 block of Bonita. Anyone with information about Karla or any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area is asked to call. Karla's picture is shown age progressed to 12 years by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

I just wanted to note for others that I was looking at Karla's case in the news archives from May 2001.

There was some talk among the LE agencies that they were looking at Curtis Dean Anderson as possibly having something to do with Karla going missing.

I saw no followups on this so I assume that it was never determined or ruled out that he had responsibility.

Just wanted to note for those that follow the archived cases that this was seen, and I do not have links but excerpts can be seen if the month and year along with Karla's name is searched in google news archives.

Long says a deputy chief, two detectives from the missing persons unit, and special agents from the FBI have since retired, but they agreed to return and help out.
