Circumstances of Disappearance​

On 02/05/2025, Deputies from the Inyo County Sheriff's Office and the National Park Service were dispatched to a remote area of Death Valley, called Slab City, for a report of an abandoned car. The vehicle plates returned to Kelsey Pittman from South Carolina. Kelsey had been reporting missing in 2024 and was located in Utah 12/02/2024. There has been no contact with Kelsey since 12/02/2024.​

*A North Carolina woman who vanished in late 2024 has been found alive, months after her abandoned car was discovered near Death Valley National Park.

In a Tuesday news release, the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office announced that Kelsey Pittman, 33, was found alive in Colorado. The news brought an end to a monthsl long missing person investigation that spanned multiple states and involved extensive ground and aerial searches.
