The car was traveling eastbound on Oakey Boulevard approaching Fremont Street when it left the roadway, striking a heavy duty pole. The vehicle came to rest and caught fire. Both occupants were found deceased.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is the accident. It fits closely, except this article doesn't mention the car catching fire.
