Her face in that moment that he is coming for her is horrible to see. Fair play to her for getting right back to it.

Redden remains held at Clark County Detention Center on $54,000 bail. During Thursday's hearing, a prosecutor unsuccessfully requested he be held without bail, but the judge said she was uncomfortable making any changes without the defendant being present and pushed the matter to a future court date.
After the hearing, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said he was disappointed with the bail setting.
"We asked for a no-bail setting. We asked that he be detained because we strongly believe that he's a danger to the community," Wolfson told reporters. "The world has seen what happened yesterday and this person's behavior in court, and I've almost seen nothing else like this."

So is $54,000 bail the only thing keeping him locked up for now?!! I sure hope no one bails this fool out!

In 2021, Redden served time in prison for a domestic battery charge after being sentenced to 12 to 30 months, but a board granted him parole in 2022.

I wonder how his victim(s) felt, learning that he got released early. Must be terrifying.

We need longer sentences for domestic battery. A batterer's behavior doesn't magically improve in jail and when they are released they repeat the same abusive actions. Domestic violence is also a good predictor of future violence affecting the public.

I wish they could just be removed from society, so regular people don't have to live in terror.

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A criminal complaint has formally charged the man who attacked a Las Vegas judge during a sentencing hearing last week with attempted murder against an older person.

Court records show prosecutors on Monday filed a complaint charging seven felony counts against Deobra Redden ahead of his next court appearance in the attack scheduled for Tuesday morning.

An "Order to Transport by Any Means Necessary" was also filed after he refused to be transported for an initial appearance on Thursday.

then...ummm...

Shouldn't he be treated in some mental institution?

But maybe he will be put in prison psychiatric wing?

Of course, if his condition is true.

He reminded me of Hannibal Lechter with his restraints on in court today. The judge handled him with more grace and professionalism then I'd do in her position.

it very well may have. esp if he is indeed schizophrenic. someone can be the victim of a broken system, and the aggressor in a violent crime

He needs to be removed from society -what ever facility that may be- preferably a prison and if he has schizophrenia- then he needs to be in a mental wing of a prison.

He was having a bad day. I have a bad day sometimes too. But it usually doesn't end up with me being charged with attempted murder! :)

The good thing is when he did get sentence the Judge was able to throw the book at him with the sentences.

The judge made it clear that she didn't change his sentence because of his actions. He got the same prison term she was going to impose prior to the attack. She even put some documentation into the record as proof, so he wouldn't have grounds for appeal.

Of course, he will now be tried on the new charges, and I suspect he will then truly get the book thrown at him after he's found guilty.
