Does anyone else notice a deformity on her forehead? I am not sure if it is a scar or just discoloration from being a post mortem photo. I am wondering about this girl, the height is a little off though.

Long shot. Partially because pictures from Namus aren't wanting to load right for me today, and I can't get a good clean look at Jennifer for comparison. If someone else can, it'll likely rule her out. The stats and the some of the piercings looked good, so I figured I'd post her.

ETA: Got to digging around into Jennifer's past, and although she has a child, his name starts with an I, so I doubt that this is her. Tat doesn't match either. Sorry. Like I said, things aren't wanting to load right.
And the UID is vaguely familiar...does she resemble someone really popular and that's why she looks like someone that several of us feel like we've seen before?

I thought of her too but after looking at the circumstances of her disappearance, I thought it would be a stretch. So strange though because I've searched for hours and haven't found anyone that I was like "Oh, this must be her"

Just have to keep searching...makes me wonder if anyone even reported her missing

Looks to me like it could be possible, but the information about her disappearance may be a stretch especially since it happened in 2004 and the UID was found in 2009. But IMO it could definitely be possible, she seems to fit the description of the UID pretty well (outside of height).

There's another picture of Yvonne on her Charley Project page:

Riley is a rather popular name for boys and girls alike. The SSA records only go back to 2000, but it ranks fairly high up on the list for both genders:

http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/babyname.cgi

Actually, they go back to 1879. Here is a better link. Riley for a boy has gotten some consistent usage for as long as there are records (makes sense, as it's not unusual to use family surnames on boys), and on a girl it's been the last twenty years or so that it skyrocketed out of nowhere. It's currently more popular on girls (in 2010, ~5500 girls vs. ~3600 boys), but it's fairly popular with both sexes.

Edit- Ah, the link goes funny if you link to the main page. To get to the page I'm talking about click the link in my post or tatertot's, then "Popular Baby Names" on the left hand side.

It says she had both jeans AND sweatpants? I wonder if she had them both ON or just with her? I would think 2 pairs of pants on to be unusual, especially in NV in May where the average high temps are in the high 80s.

That is strange! I noticed that it's in the "Clothing with body category"

Does that mean she was found nude?

This is a real longshot because of the estimated age of the UID, but I think she looks a bit like Wanda L. Priddy

Hi Everyone, I have some fantastic news. I emailed the ME and they were WONDERFUL. They have provided a lot more details for the UID. I will post the questions that I asked and their responses below:

Thank you sooooo much for your help!!! I'll try to answer your questions:

We were curious about the marks and scars found on the UID. Is there anymore detail about the possible causes of the marks? Are they (speculated) track marks, cuts, burns?

Some of the marks are piercing marks some partially healed over. The facial scars are scars - unknown source. The scars on her arms are similar to "cutter" who cut them selves.

Was there any additional information available about the labels on the clothing, trademarks, possible country of origin?

The decedent came from the hospital nude and the clothing description came from the inventory form at the hospital but the clothing that was soiled was disposed of before we got involved.

It was mentioned that the UID possibly had a dental appliance (spacer?) from viewing her picture, is this accurate?

No she was missing her #5, 12, 21 & 28 teeth, had all of her wisdom teeth. No dental appliance, had filling on #3 and #14.

Are there any additional pictures of the tattoos that the UID had? If so, could these be loaded to her NamUs profile?

None that we can post.

In the NamUs profile, it mentions that she was found with the following clothing: denim jeans (size 9/10)
gray sweat pants and sweatshirt
maroon t-shirt (size L) -

This is true, she was wearing the clothes when she was found down in the parking lot.

It is mentioned in her NamUs profile that she had her ears pierced. For the two piercing in her left ear where were the piercing located?

Can not tell by photo's.

Do you believe the drooping of the face is just a post-mortem artifact?

Yes

Is there any indication that the UID has previously given birth?

No indication.

Most importantly, is there more details about the exact cause of death? Was it an overdose, strangulation, unknown?

Death was due to Environmental Heat Stress - accidental - no one caused it.

Her DNA has been submitted and uploaded into CODIS - hopefully someday we will get her ID'd too.

Thank you for ALL THAT YOU GUYS DO!!!!!!!!!!!! <--- This was very cool to see.

It made me feel like what we do is important and appreciated. I hope even more now that with the information that they have provided that we will be able to help bring her a name.

So she died from being overheated, and was wearing 2 pairs of pants when it was (presumably) in the 80s. Homeless is seeming more and more likely (would also explain the lack of identification - most people who collapsed in the Wal-Mart parking lot would have their ID on them).

I found a great article about a formerly missing woman in Nevada. It's a good read for anyone who looks for missing persons. However, there is also the name of a detective in here from Clark County. The article says he is the only detective in the country fully dedicated to cold case missing persons. He may have already looked at this case to compare to old reports he has, but maybe it is worth a call to him?

Thanks for the article, Irish Eyes!

I looked through it and found that she's actually been identified in one of the wards in Las Vegas.

That's kind of what I was wondering too....

Yes, I know. I meant perhaps this missing persons detective could see if there is anyone in his files who might have a "Riley" tatoo :)

Does anyone have access to NV or UT birth records? I think the Riley tattoo is a "mommy" tattoo that a mother gets when she has a baby, this case a daughter. I don't know if one needs a first and last name, but it might be worth a shot.

fwiw, I know a woman who has a "Riley" tattoo as well, but Riley is the name of her 2 year old son. Whoever is able to do this search might get the right results if they weren't doing a gender based search

Great idea!! I'll have to find his information in there and ask about it.

I know that some of the stats are off (especially height!!) but what if one of them is listed incorrectly. I feel like I can def. see a resemblence to the UID (strongest I've found yet) in this woman: Faith Ann Willis

https://www.findthemissing.org/cases/420

  • #58
I totally see the resemblance. But, it can't just be one stat that's off here, IMO. She's listed as being 4'9" and 105 lbs. Doe is 5'9 and 185. That's a big difference in both height and weight. Throw in that they're on opposite coasts and I don't think there is a strong chance. So can we find someone that looks like Faith, only taller? :)

  • #59
The tattoos are all off, too.

If the flower tattoo is a badly done poppy, that would mean the name "Riley" is probably someone lost to war.
