He looks like missing Winfried Hagen to me, last seen Bonn- Heidebergen, Germany in mid-July 1994.
Winfried on left (first three images), deceased Clark County John Doe on right, I won't include the post-mortem image but it's available and to me looks very, very much like the third image of Winfried here:
Before they disappeared, Winfried and wife Doris had planned a trip to Workum, Netherlands, where they had a yacht. The son also had a trip planned at roughly the same time, I believe to France, then Turkey. The couple evidently never arrived in Holland, and travelling utensils/personal items were still left in the house. Their dog also vanished. This couple were millionaires with an adult son, (one source says stepson to Winfried but I can't tell for certain if that is the case). I see a great deal of info and speculation in German media about the son inheriting their money (which from what I can gather ?, he ultimately did).
This would be a very complicated situation if these two men were indeed one in the same. Hagen was 49/50 yo and I see him listed as 5'7". The Clark County John Doe 1997 is listed at 5'8". If they're one in the same (and obviously that's a pretty seismic "if"), there are different ways he could have ended up where he did, but it's pretty wild speculation. Just noting the resemblance at this point, and yes, honestly, I see it. Winfried, Winfried's wife Doris, the dog-- no body has ever been found.
I just see what I consider a strong resemblance and a few coincidences there. And they're probably just that: coincidences. But the resemblance-- I definitely think it's there.
