GUILTY NV - Liam Husted, 7, homicide, State Route 160, Las Vegas, May 2021 *mother arrested*

Someone commented on a YT video from today and they shared the most stupidest and heartless theory ever. I wanted to reply back angrily but that, alongside sharing the theory in question, isn't worth it.

Here's a google streetview of the trailhead by the highway. It looks very easy to pull off the highway and drive up the trailhead road a bit. Seems like a dumping place rather than the original place of the incident. JMO.

Is that where he was found? I recall it being by mile marker 20 and thought the spot was a bit further south. Is the trailhead by marker 20?

I could be wrong! I'm totally unfamiliar with the area except cruising around with the google-guy, using NV DOT info for the mile-marker 20 location.

I compared the DOT map with mile-markers with Google maps and it looks like the trailhead is close to marker 20. IMO

In the media it said, " ...in the area of Mountain Springs Trailhead, located near mile marker 20 on State Route 160."

I took that to mean the Mountain Springs Trailhead is located near mile marker 20. The hikers were on the trail, near the trailhead and one stepped off the trail a bit to urinate near some trees/bushes.

Someone previously posted a link to story with a video during which there was a map, showing the spot where he was found, which looked like it was off to the right of the early part of the trail. I'm not sure how exact it really was, or how accurate I am being in interpreting what flashed in the video.

They look very similar, but my only concern is that the missing boy (Juan David Hernandez) is a lot taller. 164 cm is about 5'4.5".

Yes, I did notice that. I wonder if Juan’s parents weren’t exactly sure how tall he was and held their hand up and said ‘he’s about this tall’

I may be reaching though...

Sorry for quoting myself, wanted to add this location description from NAMUS:

Hikers were in the area of State Route 160 west of Mile Marker 20 near the Little Zion trail. They observed the decedent lying in the desert area near the dirt roadway. This is approximately 30 miles southwest of downtown Las Vegas. He had been deceased less than a day.

bolded by me.

Super! Thank you.

Then I agree that he could have been transported in a car, having been killed elsewhere. :(

Thinking aloud here....

IIRC, LE said he was obviously killed. To me, that means wounds were obvious. If he died in transport across the border, I would think that would be an accidental death, like suffocating in a crowded truck, for example. If the death was obvious on sight, I'm thinking it didn't happen in transport but was a deliberate act.

Correct me if I'm making false assumptions!

My thoughts as well. This little boy was obviously murdered. If he was an immigrant, he made it across the border and fell into the wrong hands.

I have a gut feeling that he was from the general area and his family/caretakers were responsible, as opposed to him being an undocumented immigrant. It's harder for older kids to slip through the cracks, but it still happens- Think Erika Hill, who remained unidentified for years. She was 15 and was murdered by her adoptive mother. She was homeschooled, so no teachers or anything to notice her absence, and if I remember correctly her siblings were too scared to speak out after she was murdered.

Has clothing description been released? I'm looking back at initial reports and don't see anything, but perhaps since then? I think it could be helpful to know.

If you've seen info about what he was wearing, please point me in the right direction. tia

Metro is now looking for anyone who might have a home/business security camera/video along the route between Vegas and Pahrump. They are not currently releasing any info on how he died or what he was wearing.
Body of Hispanic boy found near Las Vegas, community ‘shaken’

See rainwaterstill's post I've quoted above. They are not releasing that info at this time. Also not releasing cause of death.

I wonder if they get DNA samples and prints for children who are adopted or in foster care? So many of these kids end up "missing" or dead...

This poor boy. It seems when this happens and nobody comes forward it's the family or guardians who are the perps, sadly
