Reno Man Charged in Death of Infant Daughter

A 20-year-old Reno man has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse and murder in the death of his seven-week-old daughter last week.
Charles Barry Forrest was booked into the Washoe County Jail today (Thursday) after an autopsy found the infant had cracked ribs and severe head trauma. Police had been called to his home last Friday night after he reported the baby had stopped breathing. Forrest told police at the time that he had been feeding the baby with a bottle when she suddenly began coughing and choking.
The babys mother, 19-year-old Desirae Stuart, was upstairs at the time. The baby died the next night. An autopsy performed Monday determined the cause of death was severe head trauma.
