Possible signs of fowl play and then nothing as this case slipped into obscurity, sad. I love the fact the her lil ole recipes brings new life into her memory.

And there's more! Nan "was Ventura's most consistent contest fan, and a regular winner(...)"

She seemed to be a very interesting woman; very creative and spirited. MOO JMO

<<Dixon was last seen on September 21, 1978. She left her Grass Valley, California home to visit her family in Seven Troughs, Nevada, three hours away. Her brother, Harry Leighton, his wife Lulu Leighton, and their son Arthur "Butch" Leighton, lived there.

Dixon had invested $6,000 in the Leightons' gold mining operation in 1961 and wanted the money back; this was the purpose of her visit.>>

I have not given up the quest to find my grandmother's remains in that Nevada Desert. My hope is that the murderer's conscience will burn horrifically enough to assist with unearthing her bones. We know who did this, and he believes that proof will never come forth... he's dead wrong, as he forgot to factor in one young granddaughter, who, as an adult, is focused on Justice in this case.

When all the evidence has disappeared, the energies remain.

Mona, if you're still here, do you suspect a family member? Who all knew the true purpose of Nan's trip?
Thanks

Just my $ .02, but I'm having trouble with the fact the case went from "indications of foul play, but we can't elaborate just yet" to "it was suicide-- case closed, nothing to see here". Was someone threatened? Bought off?
Also interesting that the car was conveniently "found" in a previously-searched area of mining company property. Hmmm.....all jmo
