“Evidence suggesting” makes me think they found her cell, handbag, keys? This is scary. Praying for her safe return.

probably and also possibly blood

Worrying thing is, if this man is homeless, then I imagine he wouldn't have any place to keep her. Missing for 4 days and still not found, it doesn't bode well.
This reminds of Emma Roark’s murder :( Suspect charged in 'horrific' killing of California woman found in tree in homeless encampment

I Google walked around the parking lot and behind the Walmart store, where it's said there are several homeless camps, but the imagery is from 2016. I imagine a lot has changed in that time. Google Maps

I taught my daughters to always lock their car doors whether they’re sitting in a parking lot or even when they’re driving. I don’t know if they really do it. The world is just not safe.

So here’s my probably unnecessary reminder to everyone reading here. Push that lock as soon as you get in the car and shut the door!

I'll add to your unnecessary reminder - The Gift of Fear ~ by Gavin De Becker. I'll never forget what he said about being abducted. Fight with all your might even if being taken at gunpoint in a car, because your odds of living if an abductor takes you to a second scene are slim.

Very dangerous situation for a young girl.
Could have been someone stalking these workers if they had the same routine everyday. I am assuming there are other female workers waiting for the shuttle at that hour.

Very unfortunate situation. I hope Naomi is found alive and well. IIRC I saw another thread on WS where a woman disappeared from a Walmart parking lot.

Sitting alone in a WM parking lot, late at night, is the last place I'd want to be. At my local WM the lighting is fairly good up near the building, but the back half of the parking lot is very dark.

Agreed. Very wise advice IMO.

Interview with Naomi's mother:

The man entered as Naomi was about to get out of the vehicle. She suggests that this may have been premeditated, with someone who knows her routine / schedule

This is a possibility, especially if Naomi kept to the same schedule each workday. She may have been observed for some time by this person, but we don't have any specific knowledge about that.

I do this too!
Also, my car has a setting where you can have the doors unlock when the car goes in park. Either driver, all doors, or none. I have it set to none.

LCSO writes: "Here are photos of Naomi the morning she was last seen and what she was wearing at that time. We are aware that the suspect photo is not much to go on at this time and we are working diligently to get better photos of the suspect. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

It was unclear if the two sidewalk parking lot photos on the social media post were those of the suspect. LCSO didn't clarify. Scroll and click on photos to enlarge.

The following is a news release Tuesday from LCSO Sgt. Mitch Brantingham:

On March 13 at approximately 11:25 p.m. Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatch to a report of a missing woman.

The woman was identified as 18-year-old Naomi Irion of Fernley. Naomi was last seen in the area of Walmart in Fernley on March 12 at approximately 5 a.m. During the course of the investigation, evidence was discovered leading investigators to believe Naomi's disappearance was suspicious in nature. Naomi was reported as a missing person and Sheriff's Office personnel began searching for Naomi and her vehicle.

On Tuesday, March 15 at approximately noon, deputies located Naomi's vehicle in the industrial park in Fernley. Naomi was not with the vehicle and is still being searched for. Evidence suggesting Naomi's disappearance is criminal in nature was located in the vehicle. The Washoe County Forensic Investigation Section responded to the scene to assist in processing the vehicle for evidence.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is seeking information regarding the whereabouts and disappearance of Naomi Irion. If you have information regarding this investigation, contact Detective Erik Kusmerz regarding case number 22LY01068 and call 775-577-5206extension 2 or email at [email protected].

Oh.no.
This is not good.
The odds are against her.
I really hope she beats them.

I see her instagram has been linked but don’t know if we are allowed to talk about it?
After seeing it, I’m wondering if her private account (she mentions one) is perhaps one where she has a larger following may and one of those followers maybe got obsessed with her. It’s chilling to see he was planning to kidnap since he was masked and wore a dark hoodie.

So it looks like the photo of the POI walking is on the side of Walmart (pick-up area). I wonder if she was parked in that area and not in the main parking lot in front of the store? Odd that he walking on the outer narrow strip, instead of the main portion of the sidewalk, maybe thinking he was avoiding cameras? You can see the leg of the orange awning and the yellow sign post here - Google Maps

Also the last known photo of Naomi looks like it's at a gas station, she must have stopped there before parking at Walmart? I'm scared this is not going to have a good ending :(

Yep. It’s unlikely they’d actually shoot you. AND if they did, it’d be a much better ending than what’s going to happen later. That book is excellent.

Casey Valley didn’t realize she was gone until the next day.

“On Sunday night, I wanted to talk to her, so I was waiting for her to come home from work and she never came.”

Naomi’s family said she works at Panasonic in the Reno/Sparks area and was waiting for a shuttle when she went missing.

They confirmed that she missed her shifts Saturday and Sunday which was really unusual my daughter was extremely reliable,” her mom Diana Irion said.

Walmart had surveillance video and shared it with Casey. He says the video shows a man getting into Naomi’s car and driving off with her in the passenger seat.

“Once we found the footage which appears to be non-descript male, average height, average build, completely covered up with a mask and a hood,” Casey said. “To me it looked clear, to me it looked like a clear abduction.”

“Some monster takes them, and you don’t know what’s happened you don’t know where they are and nobody even noticed she was missing,” said Diana.

Naomi’s mom told us she feels helpless. She lives in South Africa and can only sit on the sidelines waiting for her son to call with any information. “He tells me everything he knows as soon as he knows it.”

Can't find any public transit routes with a pick-up in that area. Was it a private shuttle, potentially like an employee shuttle service?

Update * According to Google + reviews, Panasonic does offer an employee shuttle.

this was my first question about the shuttle. I could see a lawsuit against the employer if they don’t provide a SAFE, secure, and well lit shuttle location.
