Naomi Irion investigation: Search resumes in Wadsworth for evidence

I missed the bit about phone pings, but it seems that's what brought them to that area

  • According to Lyon County Sheriff Frank Hunewill, cell phone pings prompted first responders to that area. It is unclear whose phone was pinged or if anything was discovered. Authorities made no announcement Thursday evening.

It also lead them to her car, which many of us feel was found at Lowes. That's curious to me, if she was hurt in her car while being abducted. I wouldn't think she could hold onto her phone, moreover that an abductor would even allow it. Possible the abductor kept her phone and took it with them into the truck? Held onto it all the way to Wadsworth instead of throwing it out along 80? I guess he could have thrown it out in Wadsworth and continued on. Just thinking out loud about some possibilities.

"Masked man" - I wonder if he was wearing a Covid mask or a full face mask that you would think of a bank robber wearing. Just curious how much he would stick out - I am leaning towards Covid mask because it wouldn't seem peculiar to run across someone wearing one, unlike the other kind. Yet it would still help conceal identity somewhat.

Yes, circling the lot does seem like he was checking to see if there were witnesses. Perhaps other cars were parked there and he wanted to see if any had occupants or if they were empty. That's one thing I was curious about - how many other cars were in the lot and in the area where she would have parked at that time.

I was leaning more to a covid mask as well. Also jmo I'm hoping the car just had a broken armrest or belongings tossed around. I'm really hoping she is okay.

She's a bit young to have any crazy ex husbands or boyfriends in her past, but she may have a stalker, as people have suggested, likely from work. Hopefully detectives are interviewing all of her coworkers to see if they have any idea. I'm thinking of the case of a young woman in New Jersey (drawing a blank right now I think her name was Carolyn) who was killed by her coworker when she went home at lunchtime one day. It was the coworkers who noted his very odd behavior afterwords, and also mention that he was very strange.

I agree with all of you though that this all sounds very ominous and does not bode well for a good outcome.

I think you’re referring to Carolyn Byington, whose thread is here:

I’m sure the police are on it but certainly they can pull a list of all registered high country trucks in that area
I'm not sure what 'high country' means in this context.

Yes police can look at all nearby-registered vehicles that fit the make/model/color, but if he's not still in the Reno vicinity then surrounding areas need to be looking as well.

Other than the color, the make and style (if not actual model of truck) is VERY common in the area, so knowing the plate number or at least whether it's registered in NV, CA or elsewhere will make a big difference for us in the outer areas to be on the lookout.

It seems to refer to a certain package/the "top" model of Chevy Silverado

MOO but at the press conference her sister stressed social media quite a bit and they expressed wanting to hear from people who've talked to her in the last few months. Could be someone who knew her routine just from talking to her online

I noticed she has a public Instagram account too.

About her casual clothing for work:

I looked up the job descriptions for Panasonic. A lot of the employment opportunities are in 'Manufacturing and Warehouse; and Material Handler.

It looks like she might have had to wear a protective covering type of uniform and lots of safety gear when she was working.

For clothing:

Must wear PPE including, safety shoes, clean suit, dust mask, respirator or PAPR, gloves, safety glasses/safety goggles, hair net

Trying to figure out where this picture was taken. I looked near railroad crossings and for that yellow gate, maybe inside the sand plant of Hill Ranch Road?
Google Maps

I wonder what the radius on a ping is out there? Has anyone heard that search dogs are being used?

There are pictures of her buying some kind of drink (cold coffee or something). When she was pushed to the passenger side that could have been knocked over as well. IMO
