I’m so thankful so many giving, caring volunteers showed up to help with the search today. In my younger days I never gave a thought to sitting in my car alone with the doors unlocked, totally oblivious to my surroundings. Just went about my business & ignored anyone walking by. Being a Websleuth member sure makes u realize how dangerous that can be as any one of us could be a victim of an abduction at any time.
It’s so easy for a perp w evil intentions to study our movements & daily activities. It seems to me he’s been observing Naomi & her early morning parking/waiting for her ride routine & knew just how to go about it, or spotted & followed her when she purchased the energy drink. This is truly frightening on so many levels.
Praying for Naomi. Her poor distraught mom…..

I know it is common for people to think/say "What about someone that didn't make it work or was late?" IF this was premeditated I would look at workers with scheduled time off. It would be less obvious that they may be involved because it was a scheduled day off. JUST MOO

How about a former co-worker? Playing devil's advocate here - let's say for example, there was a male co-worker who was harrassing Naomi at work. She filed a complaint. Perhaps he was transferred to another department, or quit. Maybe said person was unstable, blamed her for "ruining" his life. Planned and plotted on how he could make her "pay".

You have to admit that wouldn't be too far out of the realm of possibility. Said person could have lived in Sparks, Reno or somewhere else outside of Fernley where that vehicle is not recognized by locals. She may even have known who the person was when he told her to move over.

All JMO, throwing thoughts out there for potential scenario discussion.

Anything is possible. I am praying for an Elizabeth Smart and Jayme Clouse(sp) miracle here.

Along those lines, her mother said that she was well-liked and thrived in her job with Panasonic, and said something to the effect that she was in line for, or was working towards more of a leadership role in the company. Is it possible that someone felt they were being overlooked in favor of her, or perhaps they felt she used them as a stepping stone to get ahead? Maybe some male felt he may be passed over in favor of her because she is female. Perhaps she was too well-liked by her superiors, and she was perceived as a tattletale or the likes, making others look bad to make herself look better. As @Knox said, just throwing out possible scenarios. JMO

The High Country is the Silverado 1500's top-trim model. It comes fully stacked with just about every imaginable feature, adding to the LTZ lineup with both more utility features and extra luxuries.

This is what gives me pause about the theory that it might be someone who works at the Walmart - although there are undoubtedly Walmart employees who can afford to buy a $36K+ truck, or who obtain one by some other means (gift, assistance from spouse’s salary, etc.), in my opinion, public salary estimates like the one linked below suggest that a $36K truck could be a bit of a reach for the average Walmart employee in the area (as it would be for many of us, I assume).

I would wonder if the perp hit the door lock button as soon as he got in...or all locks were automatic once the car reaches a certain speed. About 50 years ago, and at the same age, my friends kidnapped me and shoved me in a car...to surprise me for my bridal shower. I was shoved in the back seat..blindfolded, and they had to fess up as I kept trying to jump into the front seat and grab the stearing wheel. Silly gals, they were...I was a basket case all through the shower. He maybe hurt her..gun or knife...she froze for a few minutes. Even if she had gotten free of the car, the streets were likely very bare with few cars around to help her.
Poor girl, hoping this all works and she is found safe, but it does not sound promising.

I think he had been watching her for awhile, and knew her routine. Knew she would be there at a certain time, waiting for her shuttle. He caught her off guard, sitting in her car, possibly with the door unlocked. Also, I don't think he was a homeless person if that was his truck that was pictured. A homeless person wouldn't have been able to afford that (unless it was stolen). JMO

Hoping that Naomi is located safely and the perp is caught. This is really sad. :(

I imagine if Naomi is anything like me she fell into the false sense of security I do.
I have a habit of arriving to work early, I park up and sit in my car with the doors unlocked checking have I got everything in my bag that I need for the day, along with checking my to do list for while I'm on my lunch break, and, what do I need to do as soon as I leave work. I know it's such a personal risk to security, but, it's how it is for some people who have a busy life.

Yeah a person never thinks they’re going to get abducted waiting for their shuttle. How devastated and traumatized she must have been. Moo

I think it was @swedeheart who posted Gray's video yesterday? Anyway, I had said earlier I thought Naomi's car was found at Lowes. According to Gray it was found beside Sherwin Williams. I'll link the video, this screen cap is at 58:08 if you want to skip ahead. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet.

I wonder if they captured the car being left there? Where was that Chevy truck, parked nearby? LE and the public are all on the lookout for that truck. Naomi's story has hit the national news. There is no way that truck is out and about right now. I imagine someone in LE is running the records on that make and model of truck for sure.

Video at link. Shows suspect on the camera at Walmart

Thank you for sharing this. The video is disturbing to say the least. At the end he is just standing there like he's waiting for her or someone/something.

Things I hope LE knows:
  • Was he seen in this parking lot walking around on other mornings?
  • How long is he there before Naomi arrives? Does he stop at any other cars or go straight to hers?
  • Where is the picture of the truck from? EDITED: Just watched some of GH video and this is answered. Truck caught on video in front of Sherwin Williams.
  • Do they have video of him taking her into the truck? I assume yes.
I am praying for a miracle here. Naomi seems like a very smart, hard working and caring young woman with a very bright future. MOO

After watching this GH video my opinion is they might not have video of the car being dropped off/the switch from car to truck but they could possibly have video of her car leaving Walmart lot and heading toward Sherwin Williams and then instead of seeing her car pass SH they see his truck. Not sure but GH video is very helpful in visualizing. MOO.

Praying for Naomi.

I wonder if there were two people involved, one who jumped into the car and another who drove the truck.
