Recovered/Located NV - Ronnie (found deceased) & Beverly Barker (taken for med care), RV trip, Stagecoach, 27 Mar 2022

Silver Alert now flashing on Nevada highways.

This is fantastic news ! So glad to know they were able to get it put up.

I can't believe they would have gassed up anywhere else without leaving a sighting or a debit/credit card use. Last use of card was for gas (and snacks) in Stagecoach NV before they headed south.

Did I read upthread that a tank lasts 400 miles? If so, they were not short of gas when they arrived in Dyer.

What if they stopped near Luning to eat. What if, at that time, someone entered their RV. What if that person made himself known just past the Coaldale Junction. What if the couple are somewhere around Dyer, and at least one vehicle drove towards Tonopah. That explains the timeline. All hypothetical.

Ah, okay.

So that is where it is stated there was a last phone ping that night around Coaldale.

Whether there was a ping the next morning, also around Coaldale, as originally stated by Sheriff...?

It still indicates they may have pulled off I-95 south of Luring and spent several hours off the main highway somewhere, before a last ping being picked up around Coaldale.

JMO
The thing is, it's only a ping near Coaldale...which maybe could have come from or near Dyer. A post on the missing page said the ping was equivalent to 50 mile radius of Coaldale. Could explain some of the confusion.

ETA 50 miles not 5

Personally I feel that it's just the vastness of the area and a ping in one particular place can actually originate from farther away. There's no evidence I know of them being in Tonopah.

I understand there are two pings. One is in Dyer at 10:16 PM on March 27, the other is just West of Tonopah on the morning of March 28.

The family on FB (Missing page) has stated the claim of any ping or info related to March 28 is false. Actual words of Travis (nephew I believe) makes that clear and that "they went dark on the evening of March 27."

One of the vehicles or tech toys was just West on Tonopah the morning after the Dyer ping. It's possible someone wanted the vehicle they were towing, and they torched the RV somewhere. That happened in Canada a few years ago.

Why did the Sheriff's office release a statement today about the March 28 ping when the family says that it is false information? Which is correct?

"Their phone last pinged the morning of Monday, March 28, in the Coaldale area, a few miles west of Tonopah, the sheriff's office said in a social media post."

Gray Hughes is covering this case. I forgot to check his time stamp but it’s his first case.

Thank you! Trust the family.

Dinner break, someone enters the vehicle between Luning and Dyer?

Does anyone know the approximate search area at this time?

I hope this lovely couple are found soon! Where in the world could they be that someone has not run across them?
Same here. I just read up this thread earlier today. It’s very concerning how they just seemed to vanish without a trace. I hope they’re found safe, and soon.

otto - you really need to do a google drive from Luning south.

Your choices are eating roadkill bunnies or eating at the tragic-looking Wild Cat Brothel in Mina.

Hawthorne is the only real place to eat until you get to Tonopah and I am quite convinced they did not arrive in Tonopah.

I'm also convinced they did not arrive in Dyer, either.

I think people are trying to apply the 50-mile zone range for their last ping to a settlement and Dyer seemed the best candidate in the area.

Exactly. I just saw a post on Fox News Vegas that states last seen April 2.
The Media....Sigh...

Where did they stop for supper? Did they usually eat out, or buy groceries and park to cook. How likely is it that they drove 4 hours after dark? What was their usual time for parking and sleeping?

Does that mean that they intended to overnight near Luning, or that they intended to drive 4 hours after sunset to Dyer? They are aged 69 and early 70s.

From the overall appearance, it seems that something went wrong between Luning and Dyer. The trip meant driving 2 hours after sunset, but it took them 4 hours. Then they went off line. What happened in Luning?

  • #138
They stopped for gas in Stagecoach. Someone could have entered the rig at that time. Or, if they continued on to Hawthorne, and stopped for dinner, someone could have entered the RV at that point.

I definitely believe that someone took command of their rig and they are no longer in it.

As I understand from the information from their family:

They intended to do the 7 + hour drive from Stagecoach to near Nellis AFB in Las Vegas on 3/27, staying the night with friends in that area. I assume they did not intend to stop for the night, either at a trailer part or to boondock. She seems to have need a wheelchair and he reportedly had some health issues so these were not people who wanted to be out in the wilds at night.

We don't have any idea who was driving their rig when they were seen on the Nevada highway cam in Hawthorne, or on the private CCTV coming into Luning.

I am not yet sure that we have seen any video of them buying gas in Stagecoach, either. We just know their card was used.

If they were coming from Albany, OR I wonder where they stayed the night before this segment of the trip?

They were coming from the Carson City area along Highway 50, not from I-80 from Reno off of the.....wait for it..... FERNLEY off ramp to Highway 95.
