Recovered/Located NV - Ronnie (found deceased) & Beverly Barker (taken for med care), RV trip, Stagecoach, 27 Mar 2022

Mud? Mud? That's the last thing I think about in that area.

So is "West of Silver Peak" in the Fish Lake Valley, where Dyer is or would it just be farther west than the hamlet of Silver Peak?

With the KIA gone and them missing, it sounds like someone was trying to dispose of the camper -trailer

Does Nivloc deadend? Seems so. And into more mountainous terrain? I thought also there were reports of rain...enough for mud? Runoff?

Google Maps

I am so hoping they just veered off and took a wrong turn, ended up stuck, unhooked their Kia and are driving somewhere to report.
Of course, my common sense tells me this seems like something much worse. Hoping for the best tho!

Nivloc is an abandoned quarry /mine at the end of Nivloc Road. It was abandoned in 1938.

This is about all that's left of it.

Since Beverly was in a wheelchair, was she able to get in and out of the vehicle on her own? If her husband became incapacitated for some reason would she be able to exit the
vehicle?
My mother who is 70 uses a wheelchair and walker because she gets short of breath from her asthma. She would have no trouble sitting in an RV seat, but would probably need someone to help her steo out of the vehicle. I don't think she would attempt to use a bathroom in a moving vehicle at her age. I suppose it depends on the disability.

Yes, dead ends a bit beyond the abandoned quarry /mine. Not a through road to Fish Lake Valley or Dyer area

I think this is someone trying to get rid of the trailer. It's very bothersome that the Apple watch that one of them would be wearing was pinged somewhere along this road closer to the hamlet of Silver Peak. It implies one of them was there.

Is there an msm source I can share?

Unless the watch was stolen from them. IMO Mud would be a good thing as tracks may be found. Also, possibly footprints. The condition the RV is in will also provide clues as to what may have happened.

I wonder what the denizens of Silver Peak have to say about all this.

Can't keep a secret in a place that tiny.

My gut impression is that a local resident would not have chosen the most obvious road in the area. They'd know about much more obscure places.

I read on the family’s official Facebook page for Ronnie and Beverly that she also used a walker but would be unable to get the car detached or drive for help if something happened to Ronnie. Very sad situation indeed.

And Bev is in a wheelchair and she apparently uses a walker. They will be able to tell if the couple was there when the RV was abandoned. IMO

I read a comment from a Silver Peak resident who mentioned she was going to check cameras and who also spoke to the owner of the bar in town, (where there are RV hookups). They were not seen. And her words were adamant that if a large RV had been parked around there, the town would know. Maybe the cameras on the firehouse there will provide some images.

Update - RV found. West of Silver Peak up a mountain road, stuck in the mud. Bev, Ronnie and Kia missing.

I'm glad the RV was found, but I'm feeling much less hopeful about this.

Some maps seem to show Nivloc Rd all the way to 6/95, but it seems others show it as Hwy 265 from Silver Peak to 6/95.

Would be great to know exactly where the final location was… the dead end portion or the 265 portion.

Agreed. Even if they driving the Kia, and became lost or stranded, they would have even less supplies with them than in the RV. JMO

Is Bev’s walker or wheelchair still in the RV? Did they bring their medications or clothing? Cellphones? It should be somewhat easy to tell if they are the ones who took the Kia or not.
