Or a social event -- dinner with someone he knew (or parents of someone he knew), a retirement reception for a former professor, 50th wedding anniversary reception for a friend or relative, etc.

If he attended an engagement party for someone, given by the girl's grandparents perhaps, that might have been the kind of thing that could have kicked someone in a vulerable state over into impulsive suicide.

Yes, but he had coats, clothing etc. in the car. And he said he would not be there for the basketball game(middle of the week). Do you think he was planning on a longer trip? To maybe do a work related job for someone, that took him out of state?

I wish we'd known that sooner. How did you find that out?

He knew he would not be there for the BB game, because he had other plans. Prior to that he went north...drove over a thousand miles within a day or two. No explanation was given until 3+ months --after the fact. The only early info we were given was the time, lunch, and Sacramento bits. I don't think he went up there just to see someone he apparently didn't even contact previously. To stop in with out calling, if he was in the area, may be logical, but I wouldn't do it. Maybe he was up that way, decided to stop in, but didn't have the number available to call ahead of time. Possible. JMO, but I don't think the trip was to go to RV specifically.
Have you ever seen a case where LE has found no proof of foul play, yet information is lacking. Not too many pleas for him to come home, only off camera. LE did not say anything at the PC, just family. Many questions asked to KCN have remained unanswered. I wonder if LE has found JZ and they have ask the questions SL said they had for him? Just rambling out loud.....but I find it ironic with so many people in this case in communications...it certainly is lacking in that department.

Were his keys found in his car? Was the car locked? I don't recall.... If they were, then I would say he left on his own as he wouldn't need them any further. If he had the keys with him, then he was planning to use the vehicle and gain entrance back to his room.

No known connection, but is the first story like this since Steven disappeared:

8newsnow

Looks like an area full of older, down-and-out places Street view (hopefully)

Does LE have a set of Steven's finger prints? They would be on the visor in the car & the seat adjustment handle. Guitar or anything personal that his family still has. They can also use dental records.

Wonder if they actively try to match a dead body with known missing person's reports. Or, does the family go to LE? If it is Steven shouldn't be too long before it's disclosed.

It shouldn't take very long to get some sort of disclosure.

LE took DNA samples from his toothbrush. We don't know if the testing's been done or not.

His car wasn't fingerprinted. The family reported early on that LE didn't believe the car was a crime scene, so it was never processed.

I don't think this is Steven - but this has been such an odd case from the start, it doesn't hurt to think about some possibilities.

Yes. They're in the upper LINKS section and then in the timed events area, below.

are you all thinking he got out of the white truck??? then walked from past camera after getting out?

ETA: nvm i read back and seen where this was a real estate agent...I was asking because i have some video software and ran the video through it. if that is steven walking he def did not get out of the suv because you can see his shadow walking as the suv passes by the last tree

No. Look at the video, and see the still shot of Steven's car. That's just intro. It's then edited to show his car approaching and passing. Then, it jumps to noon, when you see the male figure walk by.

That's all in the CAM3 video. There's also CAM7.

There's more details in the timeline itself, and an explanation of the SUV.

At the bottom of the page, are links to more info/investigation we've done. I know it's an unusual approach for WS, but it really helps new folks catch up. We're hoping new folks see things we've not previously caught.

ETA:
I think I'm going to remove those two top links to the security videos, because they're also below (in context). It's confusing, isn't it?

Okay, I did not look at the timeline. Sorry. There was a shaving kit, coats, pillow(s),blanket(s) and other items listed.

I am sorry that I wrote clothing . I hope it did not throw anyone off.

Ya'll - I don't remember if I mentioned it, but when we spoke to the PI at the search, he was adament that the driver of the SUV has been completely cleared. He brought it up because when he first saw the video - he had the same AH HA! moment that we've all had - that there was some connection.

Darn. I was hoping that since you knew the family, you'd come into some new info ;)

No problem!

Fairy1 just alerted me that there's a shoot-out/barricade situation in Anthem, in the area of Democracy Drive and Anthem Highlands Drive, Henderson, Nevada.

After I mapped it, I had a ding ding ding moment: that address is very near that other home owned by an EL resident, near where the other Anthem disappearance took place. Got that? ;)

Got it, but if there's any connection, that would be weirder than weird.

It'll be interesting to see if it shows up later on the crime statistics for that area. Steven's missing persons case never did, even though the Henderson PD supposedly considers it an active missing persons case.

They're now reporting that the gunman's dead, but whether he shot himself or was shot by police is unclear.

Probably suicide; that's why they went there.

Strange, though. Ex highway patrol, fire marshall Las Vegas Sun
