Did anyone notice that the second house from the corner has what looks like two identical white vans? If they are commercial vans it could indicate a business being run out of the home. Of course we don't know how long ago this pic was taken and if the same people lived there last December.

Thanks for that info and map, Ruby, Don't know who is saying that about coming and going late at night, cleaning, etc., but house at that address is clearly owned and being lived in by elderly couple in news for last three years, as recently as 11 days ago, in midst of lawsuit against VA for medical malpractice with trial in January next year. A very, very sad situation. My heart goes out to them.

According to the guy who posted on FB, it is the daughter of the man that has the security cameras, that said there were a lot of people coming and going. Someone must be confused.

yeah, couple are very aged, couldn't be anything like that.

now, the house SuziQ pointed out is a rental (if I guessed address right - 2260), and would be practically catty-corner from where SK parked. And like the picture shows, at least at that time had multiple vans out front.

Now that has some potential. :)

If you read some of my posts from January....this was the one house I had cleared in my mind for these exact reasons. They were even in Washington at one point trying to get legislation passed so what happened to him wouldn't happen to others. I think they may have been gone around the time Steven went missing or maybe it was in January. Anyway...maybe the guy on FB has the wrong address or maybe they have additional family members that live with them. Either could be reasonable.

From what I've been able to locate this gentleman was the first hep C patient genetically linked to LV Endoscopy Clinic. There are a couple of news articles online.

Cleaning services at this home wouldn't seem odd, and possibly a home health aid. However, the wife is an RN.

I did a slight bit of research, and it appears that their adult children live in the Hend/LV area. Do not know if any other family members live at this address with this couple.

What makes you think LE doesn't have the info?

I would hope they have it by now. I meant back when the search was fresh. If they knew he was in the Whitney Ranch area then, they could have shown his picture to hotel/motel desk clerks, store owners, eateries, etc. Not much point in it now.

If they had the info and already checked it out, I would question why no one (LE, family or the PI) said anything about that as I would think Whitney Ranch would have become ground zero for a search.

because from what I can tell from posts here wasn't based on logic but some alleged tip.

Who'd check with the BBB to hire something as minor as a window-washing company? They wash, you pay. Who's going to complain about "streaky"?

Wrong.

I check, because if I'm going to have people around my house, I want to make sure they haven't previously trampled shrubbery, tipped off robbers, scared the neighbor's children, run over the neighbor's dog...et cetera.

There could be quite a number of specialized healthcare assistants coming and going if somebody's in ill health -- if he needs IV or oxygen, for instance, the company that provides it would have to service it, supplies delivered, etc. Most of those would presumably be during regular hours, but the aides would need to change shifts, etc. Not to mention, in this case, probably fleets of lawyers and clerks.

Lots of traffic is not automatically sinister...

I'll have to go dig out my notes to verify this, but I'm pretty sure this is one of the houses where I tracked down a third person living in the house. (I think that info was listed in the property tax database.) Much younger, Brazilian/Hispanic surname, so I assumed housekeeper/caretaker.

I had an interesting few moments yesterday while driving into Boston. As I was going through the Allston tolls, I noticed a guy on a motorcycle in the turnout area. He took off his helmet, and I thought, "My God, that's Steven!" Tallish, slightly pudgy, same slightly hurt lost look, and the same nose -- and something about the way he moved, even though I've only seen those two small videos.

He had put his helmet back on and left by the time I got there, so I didn't get to talk to him. The cop who was there hadn't spoken to him either, but he said he'd tell the rest of his crew to keep an eye out. He wasn't going to put out an APB or anything, but I think he meant it. (Or maybe he got on the radio and said, "Dudes, watch out for a crazy lady in an old Toyota, she's seeing missing people in the toll booths!")

I've seen guys who look like Steven before. For a while I was seeing them everywhere. So this is probably just another incident of that. I only bring it up because of the ping map and what RD noticed about walking speed -- I wonder if he might have met someone who sold him a motorcycle? You can live on the road a long time that way not leaving much in the way of a footprint...just being free.

That FB post seems to be completely unfounded and if the residents are as described here - elderly and in poor health - it is a shame that people may take it upon themselves to start visiting the house or question neighbors on their personal business.

I think LE should have checked out Whitney Ranch a long time ago had they accessed the ping data from the wireless carrier. The fact that Steven's mobile phone was on and in transit after noon that Sunday shows that he did leave the area which means he did (as I always suspected) get into someone else's vehicle.

No one is going to bump off someone in SCA and then take the phone with him. So I do not see any scenario where Steven was killed and left in SCA while the killer took the phone only to access voicemail the following morning.

<snipped to show just the part I'm commenting on>

When cell towers overlap, they all recieve signals from the cell phone. I do not know all the logic involved in determining what tower will handle a call. I know timing of transmissions can be made and that this is used in one pseudo-GPS technique called triangulation, approximating location from time it takes to transmit a signal to multiple towers. But that isn't the point here.

Since the towers in the two areas are close to each other, it's not a given to me that he's moving, for example between the ower handling the first call taken before 8am and two hours later tower where second call taken. They are both within transmission distance of where he parked his car AFAIK. It is not a given to me that both calls would necessarily handled by same tower in an overlapping situation. If engineers say that is not the case, then strike this but my thought is that SK could have been where he was Sunday morning, indeed even late Saturday night after leaving his small apartment in St. George at 9:28pm. (Were the 9:02pm and 9:32pm calls identified?)
rd

When I'm in an area between two towers, especially if it's toward the fringe of the reception area, my (cheap ATT) phone is constantly reconnecting first to one tower and then another. Sometimes moving even a few feet -- across a street, for instance -- will cause it to relocate itself. I presume every one of those is a ping that makes it look like I'm bouncing all over the county.

It also drains the battery a lot faster than normal.

Stunned that someone had this info all the time.

:eek: Why should you feel like that? It's the way the whole case has been since Thread 1. (sarcasitc)

SW-Did the ping records come directly from the company? I am curious as to why the configuration of the records would prove to be so challenging...I mean you have to figure there is some kind of standardization...but that is just me.

  • #557
There are several calls between SK and TH from 12/8-12/11, no calls on the phone bill on 12/12 or 12/13. On the ping list, there are several calls (probably unanswered since they didn't get on the bill) from TH from the evening of 12/13-12/16.

LL texts Steve on 12/7 and that's his only appearance on the bill. On the ping list, which spans the dates 12/12-12/16, his number starts appearing at 4:36 on the 13th and then 10 more times until the 16th.

So there are no pings in northern Utah or Nevada...that we have privvy to, right?

The house that they are referring to is 2250 Evening Lights Ave. This is the street where we see Steven turn the corner and start crossing the street. The house in question is on the same side he crosses over to.

Some people from the search that had taken place went to SCA to look around. They talked to Mr. Security's daughter who said that house has a lot of people coming and going late at night, and that those people also were not involved in the neighborhood watch program. They also saw cleaning crews going into that home sometime after Steven disappeared, they are not sure when, though.

There has been some of us that think Steven went to a home on Evening Lights. Yet no one saw him that day as he was walking. We have wondered if there was any suspicious activity at any homes, so this FB comment was interesting, the first we heard there might be suspicious activity at a home there.

On the map below if you zoom into 2250 Evening Lights, it is the fourth house up on the right side of the street, Coincidently there is a white car in front of it.

O/T what the heck is the white car doing? Imagine being captured on satellite driving on the wrong side of the road....

Let's take a step back to all the sleuthing that was done on the owners of the homes on EL (which was epically protested by Appalled, lol) and see if we can tie them back to SK before the PI can...and using initials of course since there appears to be no stated POI in this case...

OK-I have read and pondered the FB post: Why two cleaning crews and were they from the same company? Just wonderin....

I love that Mr. Security's daughter appeared to be so forthcoming with the observations regarding that house. I wonder if they have any tapes showing the comings and goings prior to the disappearance of SK-do you think people left via Savannah Springs or drove around the other way to avoid the cameras??? Might be interesting for the PI to peruse those tapes if they exist...I know that others have already speculated that SK might appear on them prior to the weekend he went missing-I think that is a really good thought.
