I'm frustrated too. I've always been one to believe Steven was still with us. But I was out in Green Valley today - not far from where his car was found - and all I was doing was looking at the desert areas where his remains may be.

I hear ya. It's like the more you see the sights, the more you realize it's a big world out there....and he's likely nowhere any of us have been.

I feel like I'm in the midpoint of whatever happened. I drive through town, and see that there's TWO Shell stations here in Mesquite (one of which sells E85 ethanol, down by the CasaBlanca)...but that tells me nothing.

I've been down Brigham Road in St George about ten times in two months - and you can see the rear fence of Steven's rental home. But it's like "nothing".

Going to SCA that day also gave an empty feeling, a real letdown. Everything's so much smaller in real life, so much closer together, so hard to imagine anything bad happening when your neighbor is 18" away in their home.

Seeing that solid fence at the end of the two gravel paths (top of EL and Portsmouth)....but how one could easily jump over the brick walls to get out onto the golf course....and how much overgrown brush there is, that no one in their right mind would try to look through. Empty feeling.

I don't think there's anything new; if there was, it'd be helpful. Nothing has been. :(

To me, the case boils down to two possibilities:
1 - Something happened, and his remains wll be found by accident.
2 - He walked away, and it's up to him as to when he'll turn up again.

It's helpful to re-read The Powell Rebuttal.
QUOTE: "West Valley and St. George Police met face-to-face to compare phone records, financial records and even records confidential to both investigations."

So...unless "records confidential to both investigations" are revealed by law enforcement, I think we're at a standstill.

I think you're right. I still look for Steven wherever I go, I'm just not as hopeful as I once was. But I'm trying!

Regardless of what happened, someone knows something. The very least they could do is report it anonymously.

I'm still here every day, but just keep coming back to the same 2 possibilities.

I think it's entirely possible that only Steven Koecher has/had the answer.

I couldn't get a tag to place on the map properly but if you look near the center of the screen you will see "Star Hill and cross street Patores" as mentioned in the article. How far is this from SCA?

http://maps.google.com/maps/mm?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=35.98384,-115.214712&spn=0.002162,0.006845&z=18

It looks to be on the Southern Highlands side - on the opposite side of the I-15. It's about the same distance southward as SCA, but on the west side of the freeway. Definitely within the realm of possibilities.

About 10 miles, maybe less if somebody cut through those other housing areas instead of going around on the main road:

One thing I want to point out - this is the opposite direction of where that last ping was.

You guys are good!
I've been out all day, and just started searching the news.

There's also been human remains found near Placeritas Canyon (on the norther outskirts of Los Angeles, near Santa Clarita). If anyone's following a case in that area: CLICK HERE. The area is about 250 miles from Vegas.

Fairy1: these remains are across the freeway from where the April search was held.

I've got a feeling on this one. Steven or Dragan Rnic.

True -- but it's also VERY NEAR the 9:53am Bermuda/Cactus ping.

CLICK HERE to see swjaxon's phone pings map.

Remember, it took Steven TWO HOURS to transit between the Bermuda/Cactus area, and SCA.

Yep - you're right. I have a feeling this time too. Not sure how I feel about that....

Thanks for the info on the other remains. There actually is another case here to which they may be related.

Yes, Steven or whoever had his car and cell phone. :(

It would have been BEFORE he walked down Savannah Springs and EL.

If it's Steven, I'm wondering if his "meeting" was in that area ... and he was given directions.

I don't believe in closure, folks. I think lots of us have adopted Steven, and if this is him, we'll have an empty hole. I can't imagine how his family feels right now; they have to know something's been found.

But we don't know if it's animal or human.

Thank you, SuziQ. Guess all we can do now is wait.

My stomach is doing a flip flop over this one.

Mine, too.

I know lots of people are reported missing in Vegas every week, but there's very very few who remain missing.
I heard a police chief (talking about another case, last week) say that even a missing person "hits the grid" every couple of weeks or so, IF they are alive.

So what's the thinking? Steven meets up with someone 9-10ish on the 13th, and after that someone dumps his car in SCA at noon, then takes the phone to Whitney area where they check voicemails to see if anyone is missing Stephen yet?

If I'm completely confused only throw soft things at me. lol.
