I know. Naegle said something about a call in the afternoon -- that's why I left it in. But I agree, it should come out.

Just a conformation: Greg called once in the morning. There was no call in the afternoon.

We have our own little family time line that I pulled that info from. I'll double check it though. Paul Doxey wrote that and he's in Utah so I'd say 11:10 Utah time. Here's a big BUT Paul Doxy's call didn't register on Steven's cell phone list.

Hmmm....that IS a big "but".

Could he have left a voicemail, rather than talking to him? Some of what's been reported as him having said, is what Webb said.

I read an article earlier this earning that Aboud was the last person to talk to Steven, yet we've got Webb's and Doxey's calls after that...and we're not that far off on the times. Maybe Aboud didn't know about the other calls?

Is there something significant here?
At the exact time the church service was starting in St George, Steven got out of his car and started walking.

I've got Seth down as wanting the announcement, and my confusion is with the Paul Doxey and Webb calls.

Are you saying that it was Steven who was supposed to officiate at the 1pm worship meeting, or Webb? Was Doxey trying to round ONE of them up to do it?

Can you check those calls in the timeline we've come up with? The link is right below the purple words, for sequence and purpose?

Meanwhile, I'll add a note about the church service in St George was at 1pm Utah time.

Thank you!

Paul said he called from PEC which is a planning meeting held before church. It's unclear which meeting Paul was trying to get Steven to go to. It could have been GW responsibility to conduct priesthood meeting and he needed Steven to fill in or it could have been another planing meeting later that evening. I asked Paul and I'll let you all know asap.

I don't think Steven had plans with his immediate family much before christmas because he told his mother he'd be home for christmas on the 23rd. Steven's brother, Matthew, and his family live in South Jordan aka Salt Lake for those not in Utah. Steven's sister lived in Texas for a few years, but then got married 1 year ago and moved to LA the state(I have no idea how to spell it). She and her husband planned on coming to Utah for the holidays.

We also had a traditional family reunion on the 26th up in the mountains. Steven loved this vacation and he was planning on being there.

I hate to do this to you, but WHEN did Steven confirm that he'd be there for those two events?
When he talked to his mother on Dec 10th? It seems logical, but I don't assume.

Good Evening Naegle,
I had not read your last post when I posted. I was moved by your description of Steven , he sounds much as I imagined he would. Yes, I realize that you are all protective of him because you love him. As I indicated, I believe he is alive and unharmed, and I think he will contact his family when he chooses.

  • #146
Are you saying Steven WAS in the area prior to 12/13 but his car WASN'T?

No... I'm saying we have more video from the retired LE's house, but I don't know much more than that like if it's been review or what times it covers.

You have it right.

Laytonian: Here is the part of the article I was referring to. I copied the link as well.

Clues in a notepad?

Utah newspapers have reported that police in West Valley City, a Salt Lake City suburb, have taken a notebook from Susan’s desk at work as evidence. The papers have reported that the notebook may contain clues about marital problems the couple is said to have been experiencing. But Black declined to talk about any evidence that his department may have collected, instead continuing his public request that Josh Powell submit to questioning.

Meanwhile, Susan’s family continues to refrain from publicly suspecting Josh of being involved in Susan’s disappearance.

Susan’s brother, Kirk Graves, also talked with Lauer Thursday. Speaking from his home in Las Vegas, Graves said the family hopes that Josh will speak to police to help their investigation. At the same time, though, Graves said, “We understand his desire to get an attorney.”

TODAY
Joshua Powell told police he last saw his wife before taking their sons on a late-night camping trip.
Lauer said it’s hard to imagine a husband who would not want to give police every bit of information he could to find a wife at a moment when time is of the essence.

“I would agree with that,” Graves said without elaboration.

Graves said he has seen Josh and spoken to him, but has not had a chance to ask him specific questions. “He’s quiet. We haven’t had a chance to have any conversations on specific questions, such as where is Susan?” he told Lauer. “He’s just very stressed, he’s concerned, but nothing more than that.”

‘I just pray no’
Local newspapers have reported that Josh had become more controlling after he and his wife moved to Utah from Washington state. The couple had filed for bankruptcy in 2007, and money may have been a problem.

Graves said that his wife, Jennifer, and Susan were close and talked about the state of the marriage.

TODAY
Asked if he thought Joshua Powell had anything to do with Susan Powell’s disappearance, her brother, Kirk Graves, said, “I just pray no.”
“Josh is an interesting person,” Graves said. “He’s a little different personality. I think ‘controlling’ is a safe word to use, but I also don’t think it should be overused.”

Lauer ended the interview by asking Graves, “In your heart of hearts, do you think Josh had anything to do with Susan’s disappearance?”

“Wow,” Graves said before continuing. “I’ve very carefully avoided analyzing that question. On my part, there’s too many emotions, too many family members. I just pray no.”

At the press conference in Puyallup, Susan Powell’s relatives cried and appeared stunned to be sitting in front of reporters and television cameras. Susan’s father, Chuck Cox, responded to a question about whether he believes his daughter is still alive.

“That’s a tough question. I believe she is. I have nothing to say she isn’t,” he said. “As a father, I can’t give up the hope that she’s alive.”

I think this is an example of poor reporting. Kirk is Josh's BIL. I also believe, in my heart of hearts, that Josh murdered Susan Powell and she is never coming back. I cannot tell you how much I wish that wasn't the case...

2. The fact that he told Seth Aboud on December 13th that he would not be at the basketball game on the 16th. Not maybe, he said he would not be there.

I woudn't read too much into this. I play church basketball too. You hardly ever have the same guys there week in and week out. Just because he wasnt at the game doesnt mean he wasnt planning on not being home. The church games arent always high on priority lists. I coach the young men who are often times more excited to play than the men and I still have to call and remind them the night before everygame. (Which reminds me I need to make some calls) I may read something into this if we knew he was a die hard and never missed a game. IMO

You have it right.

Would it be at all helpful, if you showed our timeline to the friends and family over on the Facebook page? There's no speculation or anything like that in it.

They might spot some flaws that will help improve it, or maybe it would help jar some memories of other events?

If you want to show it to them, just post this link in your text:

Thank you!

Yeah, I see what you mean. I just read the article that Laytonian posted and it says that Kirk is the BIL. How do you know which one is true and which one isn't?

Sorry - this should NOT be "unclear" at this point.

Me, too. I think it's a typo....OR it may have been transmitted through the Vegas station into the NBC studios.

Kirk and Jennifer Graves definitely live in or near West Valley City, Utah.

In fact, Jennifer Graves is the person who reported Susan missing to the police AND to Susan's father-in-law, because someone else didn't bother calling Mr Cox until Tuesday.

My heart of hearts agrees with yours. But I don't mind it being the case, because otherwise, there's a stranger-murderer running loose.

Kirk's wife, Jennifer, is Josh's sister and now the only sibling not living with their father in WA.

Please do not try to draw comparisons between these two cases again. The likelihood of this happening is laughable. I didn't take you seriously the first time you tried to suggest this, but now I think you may actually believe this. I 'm not trying to be mean but seriously have you followed either story? Niether one points to the other.

I'm only 26 miles away....or maybe a bit more. ;)
Seriously.

Kirk and Jennifer live in West Jordan, Utah...which is the town next to West Valley City. Their home is only eight miles from Josh and Susan's address.

I think this is the same girl who posted it over on the FB page. I think she's trolled us, and we should just take the hooks out of our lips and move on.

I don't see an "ignore" function here (being new). Is there one?
I know who'd be my first entry.

This is from Doxey posted an hour ago on facebook.
The PEC meeting started at 11 A.M. At 11:10 A.M., we realized that Greg, the EQ President, was not going to make it to the meeting, so the Bishop asked Seth Abboud, the clerk, to call Steve (the EQ counselor) and see if he (Steve) could be there or if perhaps Greg had prearranged for Steve to be there in his (Greg's) place. When Seth got Steve on the phone, it was around 11:15 Utah time, which would be 10:15 Vegas. As far as we know, that was the last time anyone talked to Steve. He said that he couldn't make it to the meeting as he was in Vegas and couldn't get back in time.

I hope that this helps.

Paul Doxey, 2nd counselor, Bloomington Hills 7th ward

Here's the thing....we are all here attempting to locate a good man who is missing. We have a number of clues to go on, but we are clearly missing a HUGE piece of the puzzle.

I'm not really a big fan of half answers or half truths. We are here and we stand ready to help in a variety of ways. But if we're being duped or led down a garden path, we're wasting our time here when there are countless other missing people whose families need our help.

I totally respect the desire to protect Steven and his privacy. But the fact remains, he is missing, and there are a lot of good people here ready, willing and able to help find him.

If we're not needed here, I would like to know now. I have been consumed with this case for days, as have many others. But if our efforts and input are not needed, we can be of service elsewhere.

IMO, JMO.
