Yeah - but when Steven told Webb he was in Vegas but could get back there if needed, Webb told him no - he was already en route and he would cover it. I'm thinking that if he realized somewhere along the way that he COULDN'T get there in time, he would have given the Bishop a heads up - AND mentioned that Steven couldn't be there either. That obviously didn't happen - hence Seth's call to Steven at 11:15 AM.

I know...I was just avoiding the dreaded "repeat it all back to you"

The part I don't understand is why (after Steven told Abboud he couldn't be there), Abboud dials Steven (at the direction of the Bishop) to find out if Steven could come. Maybe they were just trying to figure out if Steven had come back. Of three who alternate, two are in Vegas.

The problem's probably simple: conversations took place that weren't that important EXCEPT for the issues at hand; no mental archiving for investigative purposes.

I would just like to verify that everyone is convinced that is Steven on the video ? The scent dogs were just wrong when they didn't find any trace of his scent ? Even though no one in the area recalls seeing Steven there at any time ? The video itself is so grainy, I wish it was possible to enlarge and enhance ; but, I guess that won't be happening here ? One question I have for Naegle, or whomever might know : does anyone resembling Steven appear on any other videos ?

We've asked Naegle that several times, and she says the family believes it is him on the video.

I wish Mr Security (who has at least 7 security cameras on his house*), wouldn't have used fish-eye lenses, because they distort the view.

*We are seeing video from cameras 3 and 7.

That's a good point too. Obviously, if Steven couldn't be there by 1:00 he certainly wasn't going to be able to make it by 11:00. :waitasec:

I'm done pussyfooting around the GW angle here. If the piece of the puzzle we cannot have doesn't involve him, it's fair game, IMO.

If LE is following along here - as they often do - perhaps our questions will lead them to asking more questions.....

That being said, I'm still really hoping the IHOP guy is Steven and will be found soon.

I wondered this too and have asked without receiving an answer. I asked Naegle how certain they were that the person in the video was Steven. I have a brother that for the most part matches Steven's description so I thought if someone told me that was him would I say you're right or would I say no I don't think that's him for this, this, and this reason but I guess it could be him.

The thanks button didn't work,so...thanks. Wow, 7 cameras,huh ? That retired US Marshall will be well prepared for anyone from his past career who comes to look him up .... I notice that people have had an incredibly tough time trying to figure out the notion of a heavy duty crime taking place in Sun Anthem's over 55 community ; maybe there is a good reason for that ? i.e. Steven never was actually there. Just trying to be flexible ...

Well - we need to take this a step further. I will preface this by saying I think the odds of seeing a car fitting the description of Steven's car go by, followed shortly by a guy fitting Steven's description and (widely believed to be him by his own family) walking by shortly thereafter as NOT being a valid sighting of Steven are pretty slim. Particularly when HIS car was found at that location days later.

However, what else do we truly have to place him in Henderson/Las Vegas on 12/13? Anyone notice there are NO receipts that place him here? We assume he was here because he apparently told Webb and Abboud he was. But, really, has that been corraborated? I could tell you right now I'm in the Bahamas, that doesn't make it true.

The ping in Overton - whenever it was - is no confirmation that he was ever in the Henderson/Las Vegas area.

So, if we really can't, beyond the shadow of a doubt, place STEVEN in the Las Vegas or Henderson area, we got nothin'.

Hi, Fran - we haven't met but I've read good things about you.

KC Naegle (Steve's cousin) says that there are "computer engineers" in the family who've looked it over. I don't think there's been any forensics or LE review of it.
