JMO- something seems a bit contrived about this whole thing. Many years ago there was another similar case- woman accosted by strangers, shot and killed in her driveway- turned out it was a hit paid for by the husband. LE needs to check out this family as well and I am sure they are.

"He said the shooting occurred after his wife’s vehicle and a silver sedan were in a crash when she was driving home from Johnson Middle School, near the intersection of Alta and South Buffalo drives. She was teaching her daughter how to parallel park, Meyers said.
When his wife pulled over after the crash, there was a confrontation and at least one of the three people from the other car threatened her, Meyers said.

Sensing danger, Tammy Meyers got back into her vehicle and drove away from the scene, police said. The other vehicle followed Meyers and her daughter back to the family’s house, in the 7900 block of Mt. Shasta Circle.

About 11:20 p.m., when Tammy Meyers pulled over in front of the house, someone in the other vehicle fired shots, police said. The girl was not wounded."

so there was an accident.....just who was driving at the time of impact?

driving lesson at 11 p.m. --

Was she driving home from the middle school or the birthday celebration referenced in other articles? Details missing from these stories. Pure speculation on my part so don't jump on me but I wonder if any drinks were involved. Seems very strange to practice driving that time of night.... And is the daughter 14 or 15? Who described the accident? Has to be the daughter since mom is dead and the other vehicle and driver still not found.

What seems contrived? I don't see anything that is contrived.

I don't think one case can be compared to another case especially when there hasn't been a hint of evidence that any of her family members are involved. From what I have read they are looking for the suspect in the road rage incident. She was probably going too slow for the hothead since she was teaching her young daughter how to drive. It doesn't take anything nowadays to piss someone off and throw them into a murderous rage.

It seems to be what it is to me and another tragic case of a hothead who lost his cool in a road rage event and murdered an innocent woman. So many people nowadays are either getting injured or killed from road rage incidents. Even people are randomly being shot while driving along minding their own business. The roadways have always been the most dangerous place on earth but now with all the road rage incidents it has become even more dangerous.

I certainly hope they can get a good description from the cameras that has photos of the murderer's vehicle. Someone has to know him in that area and should turn him in and anyone else that was with him.

And to know she was murdered on her son's birthday is all the more tragic.:( From the interviews I have seen from her family I feel the love and tremendous loss her husband and her children feel. I wish he had been there.... maybe between him and his son they would have been able to shoot every one of the criminals in the other car where they couldn't escape.

I wish the son had shot them all and at least he tried. Maybe he injured one of the worthless punks and they will eventually seek medical help.

I think the police are perfectly capable of investigating this case to the fullest and I get no hint from them that they suspect her family is involved. She seems to have been a very happily married woman with great children and much loved by all.

God bless her and may she rest in peace and God bless her family who mourns the passing of someone so special to them all.

My hinky meter is going off a bit.

Snip from the Yahoo article: " Police say one of her brothers came out of the house and fired back at the other vehicle." IMO, seems the brother was a bit quick on the draw. I wonder if the brother knew the killer and his car. MOO

I don't find it odd. I imagine on her way home she called her son/home to tell him a carload of people had threatened her and to be ready with his firearm in case they stopped when she pulled in the driveway. Or her daughter could have called her brother as they were heading home.

The only thing I wish had been a different outcome is I wish the brother had been able to fatally shoot the murderer before he could shoot the mother but traumatic events like this are happening so fast.

I understood the part where wife got back into car and drove to safety (home) but given that she was ''teaching daughter how to parallel park'' it lends the impression that at some point daughter may have been driving.

and it was a ''school night'' (Thursday 12th of Feb)...... so I found it kind of 'odd' to be teaching teen at that late hour JMHO
Agree regarding the time of night and it not only seems late for a week night but also rather unnecessary as driving tests are conducted during the day so really one doesn't need to practice this technique at night.

"According to the family's ******** page, Meyers worked as a nurse and dedicated herself to "selflessly helping others in need," even after death, though she is not registered in the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Her relatives decided to donate her organs "and providing the gift of life to those in need."

Public records show she previously lived in California, but she is not listed on that state's registry of nurses either."

Yeah, me, too. I watched the story since the 1st news report. The husband is pretty odd.

She's been a stay at home mom- former nurse, but several articles have cited there's no record of her being a nurse in NV or in CA where they used to live. He sells hats and watches at county fairs. Money troubles???

Why would a carload of complete strangers follow anyone home? How would you know they are a threat that you would call ahead a warning or asking for backup? Strange story here and IMO missing many details.

If you are being followed get to a police station......
lay on the horn to get attention from others and possibly attract attention from LE but to have them follow you home -- not something to teach your young son or daughter MOO
