Wait, Hold up---the suspect was just 15? I am lost...

I am really annoyed that I feel like we have been told lies from the beginning. Something is wrong here. Very wrong.

Im so glad he did get taken out safely... was afraid he would harm himself and we would be left with only the family's side of the story... Im torn between an issue between the suspect and little sister or drugs... leaning toward the former.. but I think Road Rage is officially off the table...

Yes, it had to be more than road rage. First of all, IF the teen had honked and he came over to their car, she would have absolutely recognized him as a local kid. Every 15 yr old girl knows of every teen boy in her immediate neighborhood. No way that a house full of handsome brothers is one block away, and this girl does not know who they are.

It should be interesting to hear the suspects side of the story.

I wonder if the suspect is Facebook friends with anyone in the family?

A couple of other family members roll up on CNN reporter to complain about how they're being portrayed in media.

"We're grieving and don't understand why people are being so mean."

Oh the irony! (regarding the part about how they are being portrayed - they are the ones putting themselves out there and changing their stories)

Right?!!

I mean, obviously lies abound. It amazes me that people think they can be SO public about something and it wouldn't come out.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A suspect was arrested Thursday in the killing of a Las Vegas mother of four who was gunned down a week ago in a road-rage shootout after giving her daughter a driving lesson, police said. Police Capt. Chris Tomaino said the suspect was arrested around 2 p.m. at a home about a block from where Tammy Meyers, 44, lived. Meyers' husband showed up at the scene and attempted to cross the street in front of the house but he was held back by police. He then yelled, "There's the animal, a block away."

The suspect was being taken to police headquarters to be interviewed. It's unclear if the man was believed to be the shooter.

Earlier, SWAT teams had surrounded the home and authorities tried to contact him using a bullhorn to get him to surrender.

now I can't find where I thought I saw his age (ETA sorry all). Anyone else?

Sorry, please consider it wild speculation for now. Perhaps he is older since they are releasing his name.

I'm sorry if this has been posted, but isn't this yet another version of the story??

"Are you all happy? You made my wife look like an animal ... and my son. There's the animal, a block away. Are you happy?" Robert Meyers screamed.
Earlier Meyers sent a CNN producer a text message, describing what he said happened on the night his wife was shot. She was driving home after giving her daughter a driving lesson.

Police have said Tammy Meyers' daughter reached over and honked at a driver as he sped by. The driver stopped his car in front of the Meyers' car and confronted them.

Robert Meyers also spoke with HLN's Nancy Grace and told her the man threatened to kill his wife and daughter. So Tammy Meyers raced home, dropped her daughter off and summoned her son, Robert Meyers told Grace.

The son, who was armed, got into the car with his mother and they left the house. Robert Meyers said his son and wife were trying to move the car away from the family home. They didn't want the car to be recognized in front of their home.

But the other car, described as a grey or silver sedan, saw them, according to Robert Meyers.

Robert Meyers texted: "My wife and son drove away from home, bad guys following. She lost them and upon coming home turned on street, bad guys are right in front.

"After that, bad guys open fire different location. My wife got home, told her son to take cover and after he saw his mom shot he opened fire three times maybe four.

"Yes, maybe in a make-up world she should have stayed home. Please remember statement from this animal, 'I'm going to kill you and your daughter.'

CNN Brooke Baldwin show 12:50 pm

Interview aired w/ neighbor Bxxxx, done by an affiliate Las Vegas news station. (Statements by neighbor in the quote boxes.)

Reporter: (can tell he was asking about the PA) "...come out of the house?"

Yeah, they were on one of the PA’s on one of the vehicles. They were calling him by name, asking him to come out of the house with his hands free. That they just wanted to talk to him. That they weren’t going to hurt him, but that that they weren’t going to go away and they had the house surrounded.

I came out the front door and one of the detectives motioned me to go back inside the house. I was like Ok.

Then a few minutes later they came to the door and said they were going to ask us to leave. So...

Reporter: That was about the same time we all had to move down here.

Reporter: Now they were calling (Exxx) over the PA system. Saying they know he’s home. Did you see him this morning at all?

No, I came home about 7 this morning, and helped my roommate get her son ready for school, took him to school, and then as soon as I was done there I came home went to bed. Because I work nights.

Reporter: By now we’ve all seen the sketch. And I know you answered this earlier, but that sketch doesn’t look like Exxx to you?

Not to me. Not at all.

He’s very small in stature. Not sure exactly how tall, but not 6 ft.

He might be 100 pounds soaking wet. So…

We’ve seen him around the neighborhood. He runs with some of the lesser elements in the neighborhood, but… we’ve never had any problems with him.

Reporter: You’ve seen that car they showed in the surveillance video…Have you ever seen him in a car like that?

He doesn’t drive, no. He does not drive.

He doesn’t have a license. Umm…and according to his mom he doesn’t drive. So…
Reporter: And then you guys, your roommate is the one who called his mom and let her know what was happening…

When I woke her up, and we looked out the window and watched for a couple of minutes, and then she called his mom Kxxxxxxx on the phone, and she said, “Ok, I’m on my way…”

So she’s been helping her out, calling her, and…because people have been beating down her door ever since this happened.

She’s got a 1 month old baby. She’s been beside herself, not getting any sleep. So my roommate’s been calling her, helping her, offering to get anything she needs.

Reporter: And we saw her (the mother, Kxxxxxxx) get escorted down there (earlier when the mother said he was threatening to hurt himself)

Yeah, that’s her car there (gesturing)
Reporter: Have you been able to talk to her (Kxxxxxxx) yet since?

We talked to her just briefly.

My roommate asked her if she was ok and she was like, “No, I’m not.”

And that’s it and she went on down with the detectives.

Reporter: Did they tell you how long you’d be out of the house here?

No…

Reporter thanks him by name (Bxxxx) and trails off about "you heard him" "not knowing how long" etc.
