While I have some sympathy for the family, as the mother is dead, I still think this was the "perfect storm" for something to happen. So many different stories, personalities, etc. It will take a bit for the LE to get to the truth. (and we may never know what it is either!)

I've gone back and re-read the initial news reports. The statements about Tammy hating bullies and protecting her daughter really stand out to me now.

Also Robert Meyers warning the 'suspects' to turn themselves in before he finds them. Maybe this is why EN's mom told LE. Bob had already been over there knocking on their door. moo

Was it reported that the car was moving when the shots were fired? If it had come to a stop, then that might change things. As far as the exchange of fire, how will they ever be able to prove who shot first? They won't be able to rely on the witnesses because it will be obvious and clear to a jury that they lie. That right there screams reasonable doubt/self defense.
I'm starting to wonder if another car was ever really involved after all the lies that this family has told! Half way kidding but ya never know! We need a flow chart of the stories that have changed!

Speaking in general, it would make sense to me that in a drive-by type shooting like this, that it's not going to be the driver of the car who's doing the shooting......it would be someone else in the car....one of the passengers does the shooting, the 'driver' focuses only on driving. So the fact that this kid has no car/no license seems somewhat irrelevant to me......in fact it makes sense that the 'shooter' would be one of the passengers

I live in a small town with plenty of crime but few drive-bys so I'm just using what I think is common sense. (Please feel free to add on to the Why-Nots.)

- Why would the people in the other car believe Bran & Mom would still be outside?
IIRC, Bran & mom followed for 10 - 20 minutes before losing him, then pulled off of the hunt and drove back home. Unless that car was suddenly back on their 🤬🤬🤬, they must have been standing around outside for a while. If they saw the silver car coming down their cul-de-sac, why not get in the house, lock up & call 911?

- Who does a drive-by shooting at the end of a cul-de-sac?
You'd fire the shots, presumably arousing neighbors' attention, and have one way to get out - past the earwitnesses' houses. (Unless, I guess, EN had a silencer on his gun like Bran did.)

I know we're dealing with quite a few people known to use weed but this just doesn't make sense to me.

I would LOVE to see the crime scene with the evidence markers showing where the casings & bullets landed.

Did Bran only fire one shot & that's why they said the silver car may have a bullet hole in it?

Hope cops know how many guns were in the family's possession and how many silencers, if any, they had.

JMO - the people in this family seem paranoid. LV has a fair share of anti-government 2nd amendment folks. (Remember the suicide-by-cop thing in Walmart last year?) Is Dad's call to "Take Back Our City" a rallying cry for extremists? If someone "drives wrong," do citizens have a right to seek them out, make a stop and... Do what? Issue a citizen citation?

This whole thing makes NO SENSE to me.

TM didn't deserve to die, IMO. She definitely didn't deserve to die in such bizarre circumstances. I saw & heard no remorse from her husband or kids for her or them escalating a situation that could have ended with no one hurt during the very first part of the silver car episode. I would be so ashamed and full of guilt in their places. I think most people would. Is the mindset in LV that different than in the rest of America?

Okay, I'm detecting the Pina Colada song here!

Guilty! Came to mind when I heard some of BigBob's claims of wife's walks in the parks with Erich, etc.

For some reason I keep flashing to the scene in the movie Joe Dirt where his parents are using their media moment to try to hawk their clown dolls ( or whatever they were! ) and wondering how long till Bob sets up a stand selling hats etc in front of the family's house...

Here's something I haven't read before:

'Robert Meyers, who was out of town when his wife was shot, said the other car followed the Meyers and at some point away from the house there were gunshots.

Tammy Meyers fled home and told her son to take cover as she parked in front of the house'

Shots were fired away from the house before they returned home? I'd say the plot thickens in this story but it doesn't thicken---it changes----BY THE HOUR.

I'm not sure how much of this new story I believe. Why would Tammy give this young man money? I call BS unless they can prove that claim. She fed him? Are they saying his Mother didn't feed him?:rolleyes: Did she bake him cookies too?

He just keeps adding new details doesnt he? The son who was THERE doesnt... but good old Bob does. Gotta keep embellishing his case! So if someone is now SHOOTING at you... you go home? Tell your armed son to "take cover"... while Mom parks the car? ( I would like to think the armed son would be telling MOM to take cover... ) Young daughter is at home... the suspect knows where you live... someone is shooting at you... COME ON! Call 911 peeps! I would be terrified for the daughter at home.... but for some odd reason they dont seem to be??

The whole "countless hours" at the park thing is very, very odd. Daddy seems to need to verify that yes, she hangs out there. Why? Doesn't she have a family at home, responsibilities? What would compel her to spend so much time there, supposedly giving advice to someone else's teen? ....And what teen is going to sit there and listen for hours on end? Was this something she did year 'round? Like in the summer when it's 100 degrees plus? Weird. Another situation in this case where there must be omitted truths. We just don't know what they are. Yet.

And for some odd reason he does not look like the type of kid who would spend hours talking to a bored housewife at the park... im thinking Bob is looking for a legit way to explain her knowing him...

Why wouldn't the daughter call 911!!!!!!!!
Bad guys are outside!!! Your mom & bro are in danger!!!
You can't. Your family is into some ****.

Melissa Mours, who lives next door to the suspect, said several people showed up at her neighbor's house this week and knocked on the door, including at least one Meyers family member.

Family members told police there were three people in the silver car.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/02/20/las-vegas-road-rage-shooting/

Neighbor Brian Atkinson said he was awakened at about 11:30 a.m. by bullhorns and the sound of a helicopter as police showed up to arrest the suspect.

"They were calling his name and telling him to come out. That they had the house surrounded and they weren't going to hurt him," said Atkinson, a 57-year-old former police officer. "They told him they weren't going to go away."

The news didn't make that claim, her husband said it.

From the Fox Las Vegas affiliate's latest story:

Investigators said 44-year-old Tammy Meyers was shot*Feb. 12*in front of her home after she and her armed 22-year-old son*sought out*the driver who shouted at her and her 15-year-old daughter while they were driving home. Meyers died*two days*later.

So now the Meyers clan went out armed because someone shouted at them while driving home?!?!?

Top clear up any questions about if the Meyers told police they knew the suspect:

8 News NOW asked Captain Chris Tomaino about what Meyers said.

Murphy: "Captain, did police know that the Meyers family knew the suspect and if so, why weren't we given a more accurate description? It seemed like it was more of a general manhunt rather than someone they knew."

Captain Chris Tomaino, Metro Police: "That's accurate and that didn't all come together until today."

Murphy: "So police did not know the Meyers family knew him until today?"

Captain Tomaino: "We did not know that."
