Because he wasn't just the shooter -- he was also their victim. If EN's story is true - the Meyers son and daughter were the initial aggressors. They started following him and shooting at him in the school parking lot. So of course they couldn't tell Police who EN was -- or EN would rat them out on being the initial aggressors.

Big Man on Campus makes big bet using Monopoly Money.........he was bs'g....and having a blast at the expense of everyone....JMO.....very smart man....he knew he would never have to pay the reward ((bogus))...JMO

And I can see the complication of the "Stand Your Ground" defense which Nevada recognizes.

I can't see that coming into play here. Well, EN and whoever else gets charged my try to put it into play, but I don't see it having any actual legal effect.

Nevada's SYG statute says this:
2.  A person is not required to retreat before using deadly force as provided in subsection 1 if the person:
(a) Is not the original aggressor;

(b) Has a right to be present at the location where deadly force is used; and
(c) Is not actively engaged in conduct in furtherance of criminal activity at the time deadly force is used.

BBM. As I noted in my previous post, it appears that both sides aggressed in this case, prior to the shooting. (I'm not sure if "aggressed" is a word, but it should be.)

Depending on which version of the story you believe (of the many versions that have come out so far and the many versions yet to come), EN could be considered the original aggressor, or TM, or the son or the daughter. It would be very difficult to argue on behalf of any one of them that they never at any point aggressed. For every single one of them, there was at least one point in time at which they could have considered the incident over and done with and that they were safe from the other side. Then each of them (except maybe the daughter) went out and started it up all over again -- at which point they then became the aggressor. No one's hands are clean in this case.

Also, of course, if the incident involved a gang turf war, or drug deal gone bad, or some such, there's 2(c) to negate SYG: "Is not actively engaged in conduct in furtherance of criminal activity at the time deadly force is use." If you're engaged in illegal activity, you don't get to stand your ground, period.

What I see is a buncha hotheads who had some sort of disagreement among themselves that they just couldn't settle like civilized people and so they had to start shooting at each other.

I'd like the widower to tell us more about his business trip. I don't think I have ever heard him comment that if only he had been home, none of this would have happened.

Newest Details from Police Report

LAS VEGAS -- Erich Nowsch told two friends that he shot people who were after him on the night that Tammy Meyers was shot, according to his arrest report.

Nowsch, 19, was arrested Thursday for the shooting of Tammy Meyers, 44, on Feb. 12. She was shot in the head and died two days later.

The teen told police he was with a friend at a recording studio the night of Meyers' shooting. According to his arrest report, that friend told police that wasn't true.

Police learned Nowsch called some friends a few hours after the shooting and wanted to talk with them. Those friends said Nowsch, who is also known as Baby G, told them he was at a park near the school where Tammy Meyers was teaching her 15-year-old daughter how to drive. He saw a green car driving around the parking lot and thought the people in the car were looking for him so he called a friend to pick him up. That friend drives a four-door silver sedan.

Nowsch told his friends that a while later the green car began following them and he thought he saw someone point a gun out the window so he loaded his gun and began shooting at the car, the report said. Nowsch said they followed the car to the house where he fired more shots.

According the the report, Nowsch told his friends, "got those kids, they were after me and I got them." Nowsch told his friends no one fired shots at him, but he knew he shot a person next to the car.

Nowsch is facing charges of murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

The only thing that's missing from his story is the altercation between cars/drivers.

Laws may of course be different in other states, but in Ohio the curfew doesn't 'count' if you have a parent in the car with you.

Same here.

Anybody know how we might find a call for "shots fired" in these reports?

Yes. That's what makes me wonder if EN was telling the truth about the 'kids' in the green car coming after him.

after all the changing versions from the M camp.....EN has more credibility at this point ... JMO

Big time! His facebook posts surely are a clue that he had major issues! EN had no right to shoot and kill Tammy Meyer, but I'm thinking Brandon Meyer may have been the initial aggressor here.

People are correct when they tell me that Facebook is one of the greatest investigative tools ever known to man so far. If we have a crime in this area and someone is named in the paper, all we do is look it up on Facebook and sure enough there are all their friends listed, their likes and most of their posts. Just wide open for anyone to read.

So this paranoid idiot thought they were tracking him, but they were just doing drivers ed loops in the parking lot. This makes me want to cry:

Both friends said that Nowsch came to their house after the shootings and told them he had shot people who were after him, according to the report. Nowsch said that he was at a park near the school where Meyers was teaching her daughter to drive, and that he noticed a green car looping the parking lot. He said he thought the people in the car were looking for him, so he called a friend who drives a silver, four-door car to pick him up from the park.

So along the lines of husband acting strange, going to site of standoff, crossing police tape, making a spectacle of himself....

Im sure LE must be checking life insurance status? What if she was really taking daughter for a driving lesson and DH called punk to tell him where she would be......?

LE sure must be busy with this case. So many angles to tie down and investigate...

""being involved in a shooting on Feb. 12. Nowsch said he was at a park near Johnson Middle School and saw a vehicle driving around. He said he thought the people in the car were looking for him, so he called a friend to pick him up.

Nowsch told A there was an exchange between him and the occupants in the vehicle. Nowsch said he thought he saw a gun being pointed from the window of the other vehicle, so he started shooting at them.

Nowsch said the vehicle tried to get away and they followed it to a home where he loaded another clip. Nowsch told A he fired at the person in the car and the person running. He said he hit the person in the car."

((so he fired at a person in the car and at a person running))
