He doesn't yet have an attorney. I haven't heard anything about any attorney stopping the interview.

I believe that's what the news station said before they rolled the interview tonight. Again, I could be wrong. Did anyone else here here that statement?

The time of the calls has to work with the times of the shooting or LE would not have charged him with murder.

Well, he claims he was called before the murder. Decided not to go pick EN up. But then changed his mind and went to pick him up by the school.
Reporter never asked when exactly he changed his mind. But phone calls and messages certainly started before the murder.

Then he must have been appointed one who decided interview wasn't a good idea.
I thought he was going to have one appointed to him on Tuesday.

Yes, that's what I heard. I heard it on both the 5 PM news where they mentioned the case a little and on the 6 PM where they did their piece.

I can see an innocent person (not saying he is or isn't innocent) deleting stuff. I'd probably do that and I'm a law-follower all the way. I'd be wanting to distance myself from the entire situation in a heartbeat, thinking there is no way I want to be tied to the event in any way. I'd realize soon thereafter that police have ways of getting that information from the phone company anyway, though I'm not sure if they can get the content of a deleted text or just that a text occurred to a certain phone number.

Yes, lets go with timing. Bad timing. Very believable.

I dunno. He said EN called at 11. He said no, but relented. He said he picked him up at IMO Sam Jonas. IMO he just placed himself in the car the Buick stalked. Or he felt so bad he waited until morning...nah.

So if you had driven a murderer after the event, you would do just as Derrick has done?

I'm sure if I had evidence on my phone showing that the killer texted me for a ride after the crime I wouldn't try to hide that fact. It doesn't make any sense to do that in my opinion. JMO.

He may be working with a PD, but the court hasn't officially recognized who is representing Andrews. The hearing next Tuesday appears to be whether the private attorney who he had been working with earlier will be taking the case:

I don't know that any of us on here are reformed ex-cons, but I've known reformed drug users I can say they'd just do what they could to not be dragged back in. If they thought someone might drag them back into the scene, they'd distance themselves and move on and a fast way of distancing is deleting instead of having it linger as a constant invitation. I'm not an ex-con or ex-drug user, but I can see why those who do would do things to not to fall off the wagon.

Andrews is trying to portray himself as nice guy who felt sorry for Nowsch, gave him a ride after the shooting and that's the only thing he regrets doing the night Tammy Meyers was brutally killed.

I wonder if he will change his tune when discovery is released and his true whereabouts are shown? JMO.

This is on subpoenaing text messages:
http://www.compellingdiscovery.com/?p=446
One of the issues with it is that the cell companies don't necessarily retain the texts for a long time, so we'll have to see what LE/DA was able to get.

Heck, my kids delete all contact and all texts of friends over minor drama. Then a few months later, they're bummed out they don't have so-and-so's phone number. This has been going on for years to the point I recommended they simply move the friends to Z to not see their phone numbers until it blows over. I just thank God my children would come to me about something like this. I hope Derrick told his mother about this before the police showed up at her door.

Having a reason for doing something wrong doesn't make it smart or the right thing to do. JMO.

ETA

Derrick doing something stupid doesn't mean he's innocent just becuase he has a reason for his actions.
