GUILTY NV - Tammy Meyers, 44, fatally shot at her Las Vegas home, 12 Feb 2015 - #8

So why isn't KM being an eyewitness mentioned in the criminal complaint, the GJ testimony or any LE/DA press conference? Are you now saying she's not a credible witness for the prosecution because she's a mess? If she's a mess, how exactly is it good that she conducts voluntary media interviews?

Good point.

There's another article up supposedly to clear things up, yet the article claims that LE has said the Meyers were in an accident when it is the Meyers who claim that while LE explicitly saying they weren't:
http://www.8newsnow.com/story/28937...-lingering-questions-surrounding-meyers-death

I am not surprised there was a "big response from viewers questioning the details of the case and the different versions" as stated in the clip above. The original broadcast was very handslappy regarding the 'rumors and terrible things' people were saying. I guess their little interview didn't work to put those questions to rest.
The above story just sums up the gaping holes in the case, put there by the family.
Again, I really wish this hadn't happened. I wish those kids still had their mom; that this had only been a close call and that it made her stop endangering herself by chasing people down. It is just heartbreaking.

These articles and interviews are not journalism. At best, they're "journalism lite." Whatever happened to asking the hard questions, and pressing for answers? Whatever happened to real investigative reporting? Ask BM & KM why they lied about what happened that night. Ask RM why his story changes every time he opens his mouth. Ask why they chased the silver car instead of just going home? Ask if KM did see her mom "go down," as her father claims. There's no shortage of questions that need answering, but all we get is regurgitation of what's already been reported.

BBM I would always carry my "legal" scrip bottle with me and refill it with my contraband pills. Keeps ya from getting arrested for having illegal narcotic drugs. Trick of the trade. (I'm thankfully now more than 15 years clean). Again, not saying this is what TM did at all, just telling y'all what I did.

I wonder if these pills themselves were tested to see if they were authentic. TM could have been upset she got sold fake pills. Driving around at night with a nearly full bottle of prescription pills along with the prescription itself seems strange, particularly when the family lawyer is trying to emphasize that she didn't use them...if she wasn't taking them on a regular basis, there's no reason for them to be in her purse if she's only taken one pill in over a month. If this is something she isn't using and would have a high illicit street value, why carrying it around rather than being in the medicine cabinet. Also why would LE/DA turn over prescription pills to the family or is the family lawyer saying that he - rather than LE - found the pills? I took a lot of what the family lawyer was doing was grandstanding, but the lawyer seemed to undermine the LE/DA investigation by personally claiming credit for finding the pills rather than them being found by LE/DA as if this was matter of looking in the purse, it doesn't look like a thorough investigation if LE/DA didn't find these things first that the family lawyer is claiming credit for simply by emptying the purse.

The lawyer speak from the family attorney is a bit more clear. It seems like he already knew about these results and was trying to get out in front of them.

He sure was trying to stay one step ahead. He knew this was coming out. I really doubt the hospital gave her Valium, but I could be wrong.

Oxycodone is a huge red flag. DH is on call and not home and Im probably not waiting up for him but I seem to remember the FDA tightened up prescription rules about oxycodone recently to the point that many docs dont prescribe it anymore.

Its highly addictive.

ETA: i may be thinking of oxycontin

I believe oxycodone is the common name. Oxycontin is one of the brand names.

Oxycodone is the opiate usually combined with Tylenol and called by the brand name Percocet. Oxycontin is a timed release version and popular with the drug users because they crush and snort it for a bigger high.

Is there a medical professional in the house???
Is there any reason diazepam would be admin'ed to (about-to-be) organ-donor patient?
So close to time of death that autopsy report's tox results would note the drug?
Is it poss diazepam she took before shooting c/h remained in system long enough to show in autopsy?
What, 4 or 5 days?

"The prosecutor said he was trying to determine if the diazepam was administered at the hospital to preserve Meyers' life for organ donation."

Just wondering.

What was she doing out driving, let alone chasing cars, while she was under the influence of these meds? That is not wise at all. I take a weaker pain med than oxy and it says right on the bottle not to drive or operate machinery.
Nevada does have drugged driving laws.
It will be easy enough to find out if these drugs were given to her in the hospital post-shooting. I truly hope this is the case and that she wasn't out driving/chasing with these drugs in her system. Especially with precious cargo...her kids.

So.... TM was driving, and giving her daughter driving lessons, while taking oxycodone? And possibly diazepam? Are you supposed to be driving while taking those? Even if legal, is it a good idea?

Can either or both of those drugs affect your judgment and decision-making capabilities? What kind of side effects can they have?

  • #358
I'm also a bit surprised the attorney that spoke didn't head this off at the pass, by mentioning it, covering the bases so to speak, since they are struggling to present a good reputation for her. Instead he alluded, in precise lawyerspeak, that there were no drugs on the tox report.

Both have side effects that can impair. No, it is not a good idea. It is Driving Under the Influence, just the same as when under the influence of alcohol and a ticketable offense in some states. Nevada is one of them. But no, you should not be driving while taking them. As I said above, I take a less powerful pain med for my chronic illness and as much of an inconvenience it is, I do not drive. Ticket or not, I would not be that irresponsible to put myself and others in jeopardy. I could not live with myself if I hurt someone while driving DUI.

Re my ^BBM, this is how I heard atty stmt.
"Zero, none. [short pause] And we've not heard any toxicology reports either from her murder reflecting that there was anything in her system."

I wonder if that attorney has heard any toxicology reports by now?

What on earth was he thinking, saying those things in that interview?
