Honestly, I'm afraid this is only the beginning.

The LEO's were 42/32 and didn't catch their names. Sgt Igor Soldo and Sgt Alyn Beck

Jesus Bustamante, 27, was at the Wal-Mart with his cousin, Emmanuel Florez, 26, to buy an Xbox when the shooting began.

“Should we run?” Florez asked his cousin as the shots rang out, Bustamante said. “Hell yes, we should run!” Bustamante replied, and the pair joined the other shoppers and Wal-Mart employees flooding out the back of the store.

I was on my way to that Walmart when LE started coming from every direction. I have never seen so many cops anywhere ever. I'm so grateful I wasn't in the store when this went down. If I'd just left a few minutes earlier.....

I had also thought about going to that Walmart about 11am. I always need cat food at Petsmart, and I wanted shorts at Walmart. I decided I really didn't need the shorts, so I changed plans. Otherwise, I would have been right there. Too scary.

I have followed the ambush of LE in Moncton New Brunswick and now this ambush in Las Vegas. What the heck is wrong with some members of society??

Coincidentally, I have been reading 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' this week. Ironically, some of the 'evils' highlighted in that book are evident here. People believe that they are "above" other elements of society. Why would they think that is appropriate? Is it a natural feeling of inferiority? Do they think it would be better if they could put other people down? Why can't they balance their needs with the needs of others?

Not that it would make it better if it were a male, but the article indicates that the armed citizen was a woman. I was expecting it to be a man. This is so horrible.

Is this the first time a woman was an accomplice in this type of shooting? I find it very interesting that she killed him and then herself. Seems it would have been the other way around interesting. Terrible day for LE everywhere. Jmo

This is just awful. I, too, had been following the attack on the RCMP in Moncton, CN and was so relieved it ended without any more bloodshed (after 3 RCMP officers were killed in ambush). When I read that the gunmen in the NV attack said, "this is the start of a revolution," it made me think these were copycats. I think the killers in both places were trying to instigate revolts against authority. Not enough respect these days.

My feeling (and hope) is that the 'revolution' was all in their heads, and the pair were not part of a bigger movement.

But Las Vegas PD have been ordered to patrol in pairs - so is that because LE has some further information, or just precaution?

MSM does say it was their suicide pact. But, I wonder how LE know that. Maybe they've already searched the residence of the perps and found their plans. If so, I hope the bomb squad was called in to check out the residence before anyone entered it.

Wasn't there a recent case where a young, English-born female and her boyfriend shot police before shooting themselves? I can't recollect the names right now.

I don't think the shooters could have accidentally stumbled on those officers you know. I think they must have known they would find LE there, and had been watching. Perhaps it's a place lots of officers regularly eat.
