Are we sure that the seller on etsy didn't just take the vintage tee shirt and sew it onto a pre-purchased Mark Pack Works backpack for the sale on etsy?

Good question. But by the description AND tags used (first tag being "vintage") it was listed under Vintage as opposed to the Handmade category (1st tag determines Category). (I've listed stuff for over 5 years now on Etsy. That's the first delineation made whenever one is listing on Etsy--and Etsy is very, very particular about it. The Vintage category is not allowed to have 'upcycled vintage' items in it--though sometimes one sneaks in).

Here are the description and photos--which shows a pretty professional seam on the beige part of the sack as well as a zipper. By description and looks it seems like it was created that way, originally. (Plus the beige part does not appear to be t-shirt material, but a more durable-weight one.)

Detectives -- could the guy be possibly Hispanic?

Another Charley Project missing from CA:

Bonick, Peter Joseph – 6’0” 175 lbs. blonde age 17/dob 1953 - MSG since 1970 (San Mateo, CA)

**ETA: Scrap that...the t-shirt wouldn't have been printed, yet.**

ETAA: OK, don't scrap it (see carbuff's post below). :)

Not sure but I think "euro american male" would mean that's unlikely.

But that doesn't matter -- he could have acquired it at any point before 1991.

Thanks for clarifying...that's true. He was pretty young when he went missing (age 17), but it's possible he could've managed on his own long enough to acquire that tee, I imagine.

BBM

I post Atkins already upthread. If we both do CA (and that's probably a good place to start) how about you start from the bottom (Z) up since I've been doing A, and now B... *Good catch on Jorgen--not sure how I missed him; glad you didn't!

Sorry, didn't see it. I didn't know anybody else was working on Charley.

I was working by chronology. I've done 1980-1982 and now need to track down Namus links.

eta: Do you want me to switch to geographical? I can.

I haven't found any Mark Pack Works tee shirts, yet. His company primarily made duffels/suitcases/luggage and back-country equipment, from what I've found.
Miss Muffet found an article last night which mentioned specially made jackets and pants, but shirts were not mentioned. However, someone told her they do make skiing apparel.

Okay, wenwe4, haven't posted one of these yet, so let me know if I'm doing it wrong. Mine will be from the Charley Project, not yet on the main list. I'm starting with CA listings.

Richard Floyd Atkins – 6’ 4” 175 lbs blonde age 21/dob 1958 – MSG since 1980 (Clear Lake, CA)

I could kiss you!

The only thing I had to do was look up the link to see if any info on dna or dentals and then copy & paste to the alpha list.

Butler, John Arthur – 6’1” 159 lbs. brown age 15/dob 1946 – MSG since 1961 (Newport Beach, CA)

That's the end of the A's and B's from CA (Charley Project).
On to the C's...

I did not know we made the news. You guys are inspiring, really! :)

If I knew the shirt would be published I would have spent more time on it ! LOL

:blushing:

Awesome, Steleheart! And I think the shirt is just fine--(right down to the buff color, which to my eye looks better than a white one with this design, lol.) It was a good move to put this shirt in the news. I just wish it had a bigger outlet...hoping more stations pick it up.

I have added to the alpha list

There is a Namus profile on this person
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/19678/0/

***Note I have been correcting the age on our list based upon a death happening approx 1990-1991. So this person turned from 17 in 1970 to 37ish in 1990

Two more surname "C" from Charley Project (CA):

Calvin, William F. – 6’2” 155 lbs. brown age 38/dob 1950 – MSG since 1988 (Rocklin, CA)
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/calvin_william.html

Clements, Robt Bruce – 6’4” 190 lbs blonde age 21/dob 1958 – MSG since 1980 (Los Angeles, CA)
http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/clements_robert.html

Including his photo here as he does look somewhat like the composite model:

ETA: that concludes the "C" surnames from Charley Project (CA missing)

I'm not going to be around tomorrow. Real life intervenes. If you guys could drop me a line about where I should start looking at candidates the day after, that would be great.
