I'm not sure who runs that one. It seems to be some kind of aggregator that pulls information out of other public databases. I have found people there that I can't find anywhere else, however.

On the site I mentioned http://www.missingin.org/oregon/sherman_county.htm there was an older man missing since the 1920's. He had gone missing when he took the "stage" (i.e. stagecoach) to the city for a medical appointment. Lol, no cars yet in that part of the US.

RickshawFan, I read that link you supplied about people who have more than one DNA. I'd never heard of that, so it was pretty interesting.

These past few days I've seen so many photos/descriptions of people who do NOT resemble the distinctive sculptural rendering of this UID, that I'm finding myself even starting to wish they'd redo the DNA testing on Blake. (Even his 'circumstances' fit - which has not always been the case with the people we've been listing in here.) :o

wenwe4 - on my post #74 with some new listings, there is listed an Alan Wayne Soper. The DOE Network has a much more extensive listing for him (missing from Tulsa, OK). A color photo is also there showing an auburn hair color, and the site mentions that DNA testing is available. (So if you can add that fact when doing the list, that'd be great.)

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1531dmok.html

Soper is a rule out based on dentals. Every time I think my list is shrinking, you amazing sleuths add more for me to rule out. No complaints, just impressed. Keep up the great work.

I am still behind trying to enter all of the submissions from yesterday. (whew!!!)

Keep up the good work everyone because another list of rule outs should be forthcoming. Also, the hair isotope testing was going to be done - so LEO can narrow down the geographical regions this UID probably came from.

I got to thinking about all of the LEO inquiries to other Police Depts because of this case. Many of the submissions we have made indicate they have dental available or dna available but they were not submitted, entered, tested or complete. My sincere hope is that we have kick started a campaign to get all of that data uploaded to the central clearinghouse for LEO's. For the nearly 300 submissions on here, we have also opened opportunities for the 299 that don't match our UID. Maybe once the data is uploaded - some (many?) of the other missing persons cases will be solved as well!

I found a few more "missings" when I went to this site http://www.missingin.org/oregon/sherman_county.htm I searched by county. I matched possibles up with wenwe4's list and Namus. I have finished Oregon, no other states.

This missingin.org site is a dooooog to use!

I just tried that site, but keep getting "Internal Server Error."

(I think you broke it. :floorlaugh:)

ETA: don't mind me. I think I'm getting a bit punch drunk. Time for a break.

Wenwe4 - I'm wondering if that looooong list from CA I posted yesterday of people whose pics or stats were slightly off maybe should be kept for a secondary list? I went ahead and listed them b/c they were from CA...but the pics and statistics aren't a strong match...just a possibility.

Maybe ask Mmarty about this?

Oh, and I love your optimism, btw. Thanks for that...needed that today.

Alabama Clearing House was checked, no hits that could match (only one guy missing prior to 1991 that could match, but was last seen surfing in the Gulf so I didn't include him, probably drowned :( )
If anyone wants to "double check" or maybe I missed something, here is the link to the Alabama State Site:http://app.alea.gov/Community/

OK I just got caught up with the thread! OMG - you guys kicked butt & took names yesterday! (literally)

We are currently at 313 submissions! (43 of which were added yesterday)

PIM - you mentioned putting the ones from yesterday's post (p74 t2) on a separate list but it was already too late to do that. The good news is that most of them I was able to find in Namus and have entered all of that data (to your info) as many have dentals or dna already submitted and available for LEO review. Better to include ones that roughly fit our UID (even if they went missing decades before) because you just never know. Afterall, it only takes one. :D

Alaska Missing Persons Clearing House checked - I am going to add three people that I didn't see on the list because they were all missing prior to our UID being found, and were the ones I found in the right age range/height, etc .. but here is the main link to the clearinghouse site if anyone wants to double check : http://dps.alaska.gov/AST/ABI/bulletin.aspx

Jackie Larry Letney :http://dps.alaska.gov/AST/ABI/docs/bulletins/Letney.pdf

Bradley J. Kephart : http://dps.alaska.gov/AST/ABI/docs/bulletins/Kephart.pdf

Raymond Dean Clark : http://dps.alaska.gov/AST/ABI/docs/bulletins/Clark.pdf

I know Alaska might be a long shot, but it's a few extra's I didn't see on our list :)

Arizona is hard to navigate, unless I am just totally missing where I am supposed to search, but I cannot find any listings for missing Arizona persons .. http://www.azdps.gov/

Arkansas search did work, and I just put in "male" and changed the hair color and no hits came up at all except one person missing this year .. https://www.ark.org/missing/search.php?page=search

If someone wants to try searching both again, please feel free!! :happydance:

Okay, I've been trying a new search tactic and found a Californian we somehow missed. He's the first guy I've found (since Blake) where the statistics, circumstances, place, and photo are all a possibile 'fit' to this puzzle:

**PICKERING, Michael Lee 6’-6’1” 130-140 lbs strawb DOB 1951 MSG 1971 (San Bernardino, CA)
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/26804/35/
*no dental; yes DNA

Other photos on the NaMus site show a very skinny guy.

Circumstances:

“Pickering told family he was hitch hiking to San Francisco and would return in a few days. Pickering never returned home.”

Agency: San Bernardino Co Sheriff-Coroner
Investigator: Robert Hunter 909-387-2978
Case # 071404352

ETA: the paucity of clothes would fit with someone just hitch hiking for a few days. Also, as we will probably never forget lol, the UID's tee was sold in San Francisco.

But the issue is, our UID supposedly wasn't killed until 1991. :/

ETA again: But, maybe at 20 he decided to embrace the transient lifestyle. Maybe he had the root canal before 20, and lost 8 teeth in the 20 years living as a transient... Seems odd that he'd not contact family, but often those who choose this lifestyle do so to get away from family, so that may explain it.

I'm doing Louisiana missing persons now within our search criteria.

Aw, sorry I was too late, but maybe it's better to just have them all on one list, anyway. Thanks for looking up the NAMUS stuff for me. I'm searching via NAMUS now, so that should be included in my latest posts (give you a breather!).

*BTW, found one NAMUS entry for a guy you listed as not found on NAMUS, if you're interested in the link (not sure how I got lucky):

GODDARD, Jason M - https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/28473/22/
*dental yes, entered later; DNA no

You're doing fine. I was disappointed in that page that supposedly had links to all the state missing person "clearinghouses." At least half were not clearinghouses with searchable names. It could be that the agency linked once had a listing of missing, but that they just eventually went over to using a national database.

:blowkiss:

There are only 25 pages or so of missing people in Louisiana and none fit our criteria. Someone knew this man and I wish he could be identified!

That would be my only issue with this person, seeing as he went missing in '71 but UID was killed in '91 .. otherwise, he looks like the closest match since Blake ...

I do feel like he may have just been an innocent hitchhiker or a loner, someone with no family left living, or possibly lost touch with family and they wouldn't think to report him missing (voluntarily left) - and he was killed and dumped - but I would think (or hope) someone at least knew the man and wondered why he hasn't been around, etc ..

Update on the Rule Out progress!

Detective Mike Marty spent numerous hours last night and today working on the ongoing "pending" list. He has given me all of the Rule Outs that he has to date. I have updated the Alpha list with that info and updated LEO's pending list with all of the new submissions. I will post the new (and improved) alpha list next.

ETA: Goddard got ruled out today via Dentals. (sorry PIM) :(
