I am quickly posting the PENDING 48 submitted entries.

**Note: One thing posters can help with is going back to the first thread and getting correct info on the post number. Mods went in and removed some posts and that made our post number wrong on this pending list. (the correct original post # should be within 5 posts or so of the one listed). If it shows post# "t2", it means post is in thread #2. Good luck WS'rs and may the force be with you in your sleuthing!

:seeya: Hey, gang. I have an idea that might help to keep things organized. Tell me what you think.

If Det. Marty or Wenwe sends the list of the 48 names to me, I will open a sub-forum with a thread for each one. Then as they're ruled out, we can mark the thread so no one spends time working on it. And Wenwe won't have to keep updating the list. Now, I'm not saying I can get all 48 threads opened in one day, but I can get about a dozen opened pretty quickly to get started, and then I'll keep working at adding the rest. For that matter, once I do the initial 10-12 and open the forum, wenwe or someone else can be assigned to opening the remaining threads. Having separate threads also would help the detectives review the information.

In addition, we could have a thread for mapping the isotope regions, and any other pertinent topics.

We were posting at the same time, Wenwe. :)

If we have a forum, you won't have to worry about post numbers. But as each team member picks a name to work on, they can search and copy the information from the original thread to the new one.

This sounds like a great idea. This means we wait until wenwe gets the list? Maybe, carbuff, you could keep track of who is "checking out" which of the 48, so we don't all take the same MP to investigate?

Would it help in the meantime if I collated names and post numbers for the MP's that we came up with since wenwe last posted a list? Just so we have them in one spot and can do a quick yes or no to include or maybe they are on the list of 48 or the list of eliminated?. Let me know if this would be helpful, wenwe.

I have contacted WSers who participated in this thread (#2), but I don't have thread #1 and that was very active because it involved the T-shirt. Anyone know the link?

Yes, I think that information would be useful no matter how we decide to proceed.

Yes, I can keep track of that information and keep it posted.

p.s. I see I was posting at the same time as everybody else. Looks like it won't be necessary to keep track of it the way I was thinking :)

That would be great, carbuff. Thanks!

I won't be able to get the forum open until tomorrow. Hold off on posting any new information until then.

For now, members can post the name(s) the names they're going to work on. If you want to start researching, bookmark your links or make some notes to post later.

You are so awesome for offering this bessie!

I do want to keep the original list as LEO needs a quick (down & dirty) way to go thru and cross out any Rule-outs. I also will update the original Alphabetical list to show all the names submitted and the ones that have been ruled-out by LEO (for anyone wanting to give a submission) but I haven't had time to update it. With the limited time MMarty and CBarwig have to go thru everything, I've been trying very had to stick with "just the facts" (in my best Sgt. Friday Dragnet voice).

Most of the ones left on the pending list do not have dentals or DNA uploaded into a National Data Base (or the Detectives can't find our previous original post with relevant info).

Some suggestions I am thinking of how we could be helpful.
We can try to find more info (maybe through original newspaper or media) on when and where these people went missing.
Possible family information so LEO can follow up?

WARNING: (I want to defer to a MOD to please correct me if I'm wrong) but my understanding is please do NOT contact any family members on your own, or as any sort of association/representation with WS, or any other way. Just post info here and let LEO follow up.

wenwe4, would it work for your list if we have a thread of "who's working on what" that you can use to update the reference list for LE?

We could keep the reference list in its own thread and have it pinned so it's easy for mmarty and crew to find.

Absolutely! Thanks for the reminder. Please let the detectives do the follow up.

Once the forum is open, Wenwe, we can have a non-discussion sticky thread for your list.

That's another great idea. In fact, you can open a sticky thread in this forum any time you're ready, carbuff. I'll move it when the forum's ready.

Tricia's post #1651 Thread #1
(respectfully copied & pasted here)

"PLEASE, DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE IN REGARDS TO THIS CASE! LET THE DETECTIVES DO THE WORK.

This is the main reason why law enforcement people look down on us. Because they claim we interfere with their work. We hinder their work. We make more work for them.

We have a rare opportunity to show we can work hand in hand with law enforcement when it comes to cold cases.

Do not create more work by contacting people who may have information needed for the case. LET THE DETECTIVES DO THE CONTACTING.

In fact that's my new motto, my mantra if you will, LET THE DETECTIVES DO THE CONTACTING"

In my haste I missed one on the bottom (Ware) - just added him back to the pending list. I will double check to make sure I didn't miss one when copying and pasting.

  • #312
I like the current plan. :-)

  • #313

I just checked Harmon, Hodges, Keenan, Kennedy, London, Peoples, Schiro, & Shook - didn't see this as a submission but this story sounds so familiar (maybe there was another alias?) Good eye Owuta! It will take me forever to get him listed under each name, so I think we will just stick with Harmon and it doesn't look like we have multiple more pending people on the list. I am adding him to a new pending list as LEO hasn't had an opportunity to take a look/see at him.

  • #314
It may take me several days to get the original alpha list updated (sorry). I put the last alpha list post (post #155) in the tags so people can always check that. There are a few added since then (and even ruled out). The current pending list is the 48 names (above post 301) and Harmon.

If you are reading through the list the "#" refers to the numerical number of WS submissions as they were submitted (currently @ 347 entries) and "p" refers to the post number (with "p"t2 meaning post number in thread 2).

Wenwe or Carbuff......Am I to go ahead and collate the names of all the MP's posters proposed since wenwe last posted the list? Like in May sometime? So nothing falls through the cracks? I was thinking just a simple list of last names and post #. We could check them against either of wenwe's lists after this simple list is collated? Maybe this was done already?

Please answer yes or no so I know what I'm doing. Thanks!

I'll set that up tomorrow some time.

Rickshaw, I want to always welcome anyone to double check me - God forbid I lost a name/submission and that ended up being our Red Headed Stranger. If you want to and have time - by all means please do! I know there are some that I just got on rule out list and haven't been able to update that last list but better safe than sorry.

Okay. I'll work on it tomorrow evening. I didn't know that any of the information in those posts had been captured, since we all scattered at some point and our thread became a little hard to follow. Thanks for doing it already, and I'll follow through on the doublecheck tomorrow.

Another thing people could help with is to give the date missing and the dob for all of the pending submissions (especially if written as "age"). I had originally tried to estimate the age of the person at the time they found the body or age when last seen. Unfortunately, I probably wasn't as helpful as I was trying to be to LEO. Maybe if each poster lists what they are working on and which names, then others could determine how they might be helpful.

We could search threads here to see if we have more info about the missing person(s); check (and double check) NAMUS for dentals or dna submissions/status; provide original reporting agency info and any case numbers for reference; sleuth info from the city the person went missing from (ie: media or Missing Persons notifications); etc.
