mkay, that was the thing that struck me. Although this lady turned her husband in I have to wonder if her own child were not on that tape would she still have done the same thing. There's an underage girl on the tape.

It's kind of like she turned him in yet somehow wants to make herself feel better by saying there hasn't been an incident in 20 years. You can't say that. How's she know what he's doing 24/7? I wonder if she's seen other things or other behavior in the guy and ignored it figuring it wouldn't effect her own children?

1. If they are on probation there is sometimes an order not to allow them around children. But if there is no order or if they aren't on probation, I don't think there is anything legal to prevent them from being around children.

2. Check your state sex offender website. Each state has different rules. Usually before you can run a name on the sex offender site there is a blurb/disclaimer that spells out the rules. There are some states that say you can't even link to anyone on the site, other states it isn't against the rules. If it is against your states rules, one way to get around that is to make a sign giving the web address of the SO site and say there are sex offenders in our neighborhood.

As the single mother of a 7 year old son, I made a promise to myself when his father and I split up.... I would never bring a man home until my son was old enough to defend himself. There are 3 men I trust alone with my son, that is his father, his grandfather and an ex-fiance/best friend who I have known since I was 15.

In 6 to 7 years, if I find a man acceptable enough to meet my son, then perhaps I will trust him around my son. If I had a daughter, it would 8 or 9 years. I know it's not PC, but girl (even when taught defense) don't defend themselves as well against a manipulative sob pedofreak like a boy will do.

I tend to agree with Pixies. Yes, good, great, fine, wondermous, Mom found the tapes and turned the man in. If she was really that great of a parent (IMO) she never would have had her daughter near a man such as this to start. Maybe that is harsh, but it's the simple truth. Baby rapists never, ever, ever change. I'd give up my left foot if this man didn't offend in 20 years. It doesn't happen, he just wasn't caught.

I mean SHE knew about his past???
Could any one of you ever let a man touch you knowing he molested a child??
The idea makes my skin crawl ... yet you have these women who marry them??
I just don't get it...
