Mayor De Blasio said recent attacks are considered a rare event. And its for that reason we should DOUBLE the number of immigrants. Would he make this same speech if people were killed? Probably. What or who PROMPTED him to say such a thing??????

I don't think De Blasio has any say in how many people can immigrate to the USA. But without the quote it's hard to understand. When and where did he say this? Do you have a link? Thanks.

Maybe this.

Our Immigrants, Our Strength

(cowritten with the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo)

It's long. Here's a snippet:

As the mayors of three great global cities — New York, Paris and London — we urge the world leaders assembling at the United Nations to take decisive action to provide relief and safe haven to refugees fleeing conflict and migrants fleeing economic hardship, and to support those who are already doing this work.

We will do our part, too. Our cities pledge to continue to stand for inclusivity, and that is why our cities support services and programs that help all residents, including our diverse immigrant communities, feel welcome, so that every resident feels part of our great cities.

We know policies that embrace diversity and promote inclusion are successful. We call on world leaders to adopt a similar welcoming and collaborative spirit on behalf of the refugees all over the world during the summit meeting this week. Our cities stand united in the call for inclusivity. It is part of who we are as citizens of diverse and thriving cities.

And...

Correction: September 21, 2016
An Op-Ed essay on Tuesday about relief for refugees included the phrase, “In our experience, militant violence is vanishingly rare.” Because of a miscommunication, the phrase, which was added by an editor, was published without final approval of the authors.

I hope they don't outlaw pressure cookers!!! I love mine.
If you're never used one...it cuts down cooking time of everything to minutes.

There are plenty of indicators. There are many complications of abuse for an individual such as health impacts. Profilers in Quantico aggregrate data and come up with profiles. This would be a good thing to profile.

The injustice collectors are interesting. That is a good indicator

Every time I hear about terrorist attacks of rampage killings, the first thing I think is they are injustice collectors, injustice creator, or grudge holders.

some tidbits of info:

... those who were close to him say the real story of Rahami's path to terrorism stems from a lifelong struggle with his father, Mohammed Rahami, and the clash of values that steeped them both.

"For a lot of families, there is tension ... for him it was his father," said a close family friend.

... between the teen pregnancy and Rahami's seeming inability to move forward (dropped out of college) prompted his father to take the entire family to Afghanistan and then on to Pakistan. It was during that trip, that Mohammed Rahami abandoned Ahmad alone in a foreign country.

"[Rahami] told me he was basically left there," the friend said. "He had to find his own way back ... I'm sure that traumatized him for life ... I'm sure that scarred him." Rahami told him that his father took his passport while he was sleeping. The entire family left, ultimately returning to the U.S.

Another friend confirmed this story, telling CNN he remembers getting a strange phone call from Rahami, who said he was stuck in Pakistan and needed money.

Rahami eventually made it back to the United States and moved back into a tumultuous existence in the cramped apartment above his father's chicken shop.

___

As Rahami and his brothers grew older, they hung out around Elizabeth and neighboring towns, sometimes making trips into New York city for fun. Also during this time, Rahami and his one brother, Mohammad, made multiple trips to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ultimately, Rahami and his brother returned to their traditional values. They married two conservative Pakistani cousins.

___

Rahami and his wife moved into an apartment in Perth Amboy. But they couldn't afford it. After they were evicted, the moved back in with the rest of the family above the chicken shop. The tight quarters led to family fights. In 2014, the violence escalated when Rahami stabbed his brother in the leg with a knife. "It was not good what happened. It was just a violent night. There was blood. It was a very bad situation for Ahmad. He was trying to live with his parents and wife and kids." On Tuesday, Rahami's father said he called police during that altercation, saying his son was "doing bad." "He stabbed my [other] son," Mohammed Rahami said. "He hurt my wife, and I put him to jail two years ago."

Same here! If I were just walking by and saw a luggage I liked and took it and I'm completely innocent, I would come forward. I would of said something before my photo is aired like "hey I think I took the luggage this was in"

Something tells me they aren't innocent....which is worrisome.

There it is. Family dysfunction that affects the being of a person. I suppose he got "love" and acceptance from his imagined life in the Middle East. Kind of like John Hinkley thought he had a relationship with Jodi Foster and thought killing the Pres would do something for her.

I agree, not only am I surprised they haven't' come forward, I'm surprised no one has ID'd them, or maybe the FBI is aware now and attempting to track them down.

Not everyone watches the news

In the NJ/NY area, everyone is watching this story. Luckily the guy who found Rahami was watching CNN.

I'm sure they have cell phones with social media. They will see their photo everywhere. I also have seen it on light poles in the city.
