The two men, approximately ages 35 and 42, were tourists from Egypt who have since returned to their home country.

Before they returned to Egypt, the two men had been staying in a hotel in Manhattan.

The F.B.I. has submitted a request to the Egyptian government and is seeking to question the two men.

Yeh two dudes on vacation, needed to get back to the office, and have no desire to get into all this All our great resouces to locate them probably amount to their fingerprints being left on the bag they took out !!

And they did!

The two men are believed to work for an Egyptian airline and are presumed to have returned to Egypt, officials said. At this point remain witnesses in the case.

A bomb goes off a few blocks away and they take a random duffle bag, empty out the pressure cooker wired to cell phone and think nothing of it?!

Lets just go with this. They need their paycheck. Their scheduled to work a flight in 8 hours. May have been clueless that they were on video. They are not bomb experts. I dont know if I would think , oh goodness, I need to contact the FBI. I pened a bag, freaked when I saw a bomb, took the bag and ran.

Then they work their flight. Get home. On the news they see bomber caught. I am a bit confused that the notion that they did not contact anyone might be nothing other than they not thinking they had anything to add - bomber in custudy .

Or we are operating on the assumption that people watch the news or follow events. They are doing Pokeman. They may have only known oh shi$ bomb run !!

Could be a dash of embarssment that the whole world knows they ripped off a bombers suitcase !

HOw can it be a "fail" if it was two gainfully employed airline folk on an overnight, who picked up a decent piece of luggage abdoned on a sidewalk, in the middle of the first bomb in NYC , since 911.

They work for a huge airline, on layover, dressed up went out , on a layover,had flight to attend to the next day and are back at thier base - living their lives ?!

They work for Egyption Airlines (big!) and worked the segment back. Back where their employer is based.

IMO FBI has conformed that they work for the carrier, are not suspects. Lets say they were co consprators - what did they do? They saw a bomb, ran , with some luggage.

What terrorist organization that just blew up a bomb needs two people to take out a pressure cooker. If they took it out of safe , to insure max damage might make sone sense.

In planning this, ok , after we set the little bag down, you two run over , and take out a pressure cooker, which might blow your head to New Jersey (!) and place it on a sidewalk, then split.

I suppose they could be wanted for taking an abdoned hand bag!

Considering his inepitude, I am going more with they disconnected it and saved tons of people - we are looking at him (correctly) as an idiot, dont know how, but the one that went off was more powerful than Boston.

So.....my first thought is they should KNOW what a bomb looks like. Various type of bombs. This is just getting stranger and stranger!!!!!!
