How very sad. I lost my father a few years ago suddenly at age 61. I miss him so much. I always told people that I realized after he died that no one would love and protect me as much as my parents. How sad her own father did this. A man she probably trusted since she was a child. Rip Andrea and your baby. Xo

So very sorry for your loss. I hear you. It is so hard to comprehend a Parent doing this. Breaks my heart to think what a child of any age goes thru dying at the hand of a Parent.

Sources say it appears William Caruth had been stealing money from his daughter and took out a second mortgage on the home he shared with her and her boyfriend without her knowledge. When Andrea Caruth discovered what happened, she confronted her father, which apparently led to the deadly confrontation, the sources said.

It wasn't immediately clear if William Caruth had an attorney.


Friends and family said Caruth was looking forward to giving birth to her first child.
"She was very excited," said McCall. "It's her first child, she even had a name picked out."

She probably threatened to turn her dad in for fraud since he obviously managed to get a loan without her signature. Dad got to thinking about that threat and decided he needed to silence her. It seems odd that her boyfriend wouldn't have known there was a lot of tension in the house and suspected her dad from the onset. It sounds as if she actually left to go somewhere, and then her dad lured her into his apartment, possibly without the boyfriends knowledge.

This wasn't about pregnancy, it was about fraud and greed.

How horrible. My gosh. Over money??!!! My father would give me his shirt of his back. He killed his own daughter and grandbaby. He destroyed his family. He has caused sadness and grief to her daycare kids. My gosh what a evil evil man. I hope justice is swift and severe.

My deepest apologies to the bf. I was sure it was him.
Holy canoli. Can't understand how a father can do that. Not that there's any excuse, but was he in debt with the mafia? Did he have a gun pressed to his head to do this? I'm baffled to the extent that humans will destroy each other and the dumb justifications that they believe is ok.

You know, I've been in the construction business in one form or another for over 30+ years, and I have no idea how one goes about "hallowing out" concrete or what kind of equipment you would use to do such. Anybody want to help me out on this one ?

So, so sickening. She was excitedly planning the birth of her child while right below her, her own father was preparing their deaths and hiding her body.

I could understand how an extremely charged argument about this type of fraud getting out of hand. I can see the father striking his daughter in a fit of anger and anxiety over what he does next. I can't understand him not getting help. There is no way to fathom how her father could actually have planned to do that, it's just unthinkable!

I feel so sad for Andrea, her baby, her partner and the rest of her family

William Caruth allegedly strangled and bludgeoned his 39-year-old daughter Andrea Caruth, then hid her body in a crawl space in his house.

The younger Caruth was five months pregnant.

The defendant faces charges of murder and manslaughter and a maximum penalty of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Six of 13 planned witnesses of the prosecution have taken the stand so far, including the victim's boyfriend, the lead detective and several police officers.

The jury has not yet heard a motive, but witnesses have testified that the relationship between father and daughter was tense and estranged, even though they lived together.
