"On Thursday, the Cipriani family issued the following statement:

“We have sadly learned that Andrea Zamperoni, a well-respected and beloved member of the Cipriani team for many years, who went missing last Sunday has been found deceased.

His brother is overcome with grief and regrets he will not be available to provide any comments. We will keep Andrea’s family in our thoughts and prayers and respect their privacy during this difficult time."

"Sources said the hostel is a hotbed of prostitution and drugs.

An anonymous caller brought the police to the Kamway Lodge about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

When they arrived, a naked woman ran out of one of the rooms screaming “He’s over there!" sources said.

Cops ran into the room and found the chef dead.

Guests at the hostel were shaken by the discovery.

“We had to get escorted back into our rooms by the cops," said Scottish tourist Avery Mullen. "And once we were in, we couldn’t leave. So I had to stay the night.”

WOW, I wonder if he made a "date" with someone, and maybe they partook in some substances. Maybe he was unconscious all this time, such weird circumstances.
RIP Andrea

I wonder about that too, but this story doesn't make a lot of sense yet. If he left his home at noon and was due at work at 1:00 p.m. how did he wind up at a hostel?

I wonder if the confusion about days has something to do with time difference( as far as when mom last spoke to him) Sadly he can’t be brought back!

From the article:
The hotel where his body was found is around the block from Zamperoni's apartment.

Maybe he passes by on his way to work and someone unknown to him started trouble?

Reportedly, he wasn't a partier and worked hard, but the activities going on at that hostel makes it the kind of place you wouldn't advertise to family/friends as frequenting.

Wonder if he has been there before?

Hard to get a room at "normal hotels" with your ID left back at home.

Yeah the timeline is kind of off unless he was still alive the past few days.

"The body of 33-year-old Andrea Zamperoni was found Wednesday, wrapped in a blanket at a Queens hotel that is a known drug and prostitution location. A naked woman directed responding officers to his body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was confirmed by his two brothers, who arrived from London earlier that day.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death, which appears suspicious."

I have to say it... they rented out the room again without checking around inside? come on! Assuming from the naked woman and all... sheesh... click bait journalism.

ETA: LE directed there from a tip (!!!) per that link in @CharlestonGal post above

My question exactly!

So, if he left from home for work on Monday, why didn't he call his mom on Sunday like he normally does?

How long has he been in that room, and for how long has he been deceased.

Sure hope the hostel has video and all guests go through the front door

I think Monday at noon is a red herring. If it were correct, he would not have missed the Sunday phone call and would at least still be reachable.

The body was found wrapped in a blanket. Did someone wrap him in a blanket? Who was he with at the hostel?

ETA: Who rented the room in which he was found?

Add to that - who is the anonymous tipster that called LE?

And who is the naked chick?

I agree. Some reports state he was last seen Monday at noon; others report he was last seen Saturday by roommates. Saturday makes more sense because he did not call his mother on Sunday.

I don't know what to think. I find it hard to believe he could have been deceased in the hostel room since Saturday night/Sunday.
