GUILTY NY - Andrea Zamperoni, 33, chef at Cipriani Dolci, Queens, 17 Aug 2019 *Arrest*

Yep, they knew.

Premeditated murder, moo.

I know next to nothing about the law in regard to drugs/prostitution, but wouldn't the prosecution have to prove that the johns were intentionally drugged? Couldn't her defence attorney claim that the johns willing took the drugs?

Do low-level prostitutes usually serve drinks? I would think escorts and call girls might. Anyway, I am interested in how this case is going to work out. MOO

Another man died at her hands AFTER Andrea?!

She's been caught and charged....but the supplier of these deadly drugs needs to be found and stopped (and charged, of course!). ASAP.

No, my mistake, sorry. Andrea passed on Aug 18, but was found on the 21st. I thought that someone else died on the 21st. See Jersey Girl's post for clarification.

Three deaths is still as cold-blooded as it gets, IMHO, and didn't appear to slow this vile woman down at all.

And not only does that drug supplier and pimp need to be arrested, but that hostel-brothel needs to be shut down as well. MOO

No knowledge of how the law works but in a previously posted article, the prostitute claimed she told her customer (one of the men before Andrea) that it was cocaine but she admitted that she didn't know what it was. So, it doesn't appear (at least with that particular case) that it was forced or given without the customer's permission/knowledge, but she lied about what it was.
She's a self-admitted liar though, so it's possible no one knew or willingly took anything.

Will be interesting to see what LE can prove, if anyone who HASNT died will come forward to give an idea on how it all unfolds and to know if lying about drug contents, if taken willingly, will create more charges for her.

Law enforcement also found what appeared to be a glass pipe commonly used to smoke drugs and an American Express credit card in Zamperoni's name.

Surveillance video from the motel appears to show Barini entering the motel with a man matching Zamperoni's description at 4:58 a.m. on August 18.

Surveillance further showed Barini leave the hotel room at 1:30 p.m., retrieve a garbage can from an alleyway outside and return to the room. Surveillance video shows that more people entered and exited the room between August 18 and August 21, including Barini but not Zamperoni,

Whew. That's reassuring....well, not really considering there are still at least 3 dead men because of this woman and her pimp. You think they'd come up with a new plan after one dead john. Nope, they just kept going. Unbelievable.

You'd think they would at least change suppliers when their product began killing people.

It would have been a wise choice.

What an idiotic reason to go to jail on murder charges. NOT that any reason is a good reason, but this is the result of being lazy (and greedy, of course).

I'm wondering if the state will actually charge her with murder? I don't know what NY law says about supplying drugs to people who overdose. Right now she just has federal charges of distribution. Nothing involving actual death.

"The police said officers had arrested Ms. Barini, of Rego Park, more than 24 times for trespassing and possessing stolen items and illegal drugs like meth and crack cocaine. She was most recently arrested on Dec. 19 for shoplifting, after she was caught on surveillance video stealing $119 in merchandise from a Macy’s department store in Queens, the police said."

I mean I guess it doesn't really matter, but I am confused in regards to what drug Andrea was given. It's being reported in MSM that he was given "liquid ecstasy" which IME has always referred to GHB, not actual ecstasy or MDMA. I also see it being reported that he was given fentanyl, which given the heroin epidemic in the NY/NJ area, seems more likely to me than GHB. Color me confused.

I hope this woman and her pimp get locked up for life.

It's only the sex worker saying it was liquid ecstasy. The post mortems on the other victims showed fentanyl, not ecstasy. I suspect they will find fentanyl to be the COD in Andrea's case as well. The sex worker doesn't seem to be too bright and she herself probably has no idea what she is supplying/dosing people with.

Earlier this year, the first death by dealer conviction was made in NY. FWIW I don't think this guy got NEARLY long enough of a sentence, but it's a start I guess.

I am hoping more charges are to come, but IDK.

If there weren't other previous deaths, she could make the case she didn't know Andrea could die from the drugs, whether he took them or she slipped them to him. But she did know the dangers, which I would think makes her responsible in some way for his death, even if he willingly took the drugs.

I don't know the law or specific charges that could come from this, though.

Thanks! I figured that she was the only one saying GHB. I think she knows exactly what she was supplying/dosing and is purposely saying GHB because she thinks it doesn't sound as bad as fentanyl.

Two to six years? That's all you get for killing another human being? Maybe if dealers went to prison for life they'd rethink their life path.

Edit: Of course, that would include a whole lot of doctors who supply legal narcotics. That would be one hell of a mess.

OT: It already is one helluva mess with the legally-prescribed drugs. Grrr....but I guess that's a whole 'nother topic apart from this case. (Is there a WS thread on legal narcotics suppliers that are now being sued?)

I wonder if this woman is the same woman who ran out of the room naked?

Crazy, isn't it? Unfortunately, it seems like there are few deterrents for many dealers. NJ has strict liability for drug induced deaths, yet the death toll breaks a new record every year. It seems like every month or so I find out about the fatal overdose of another person I grew up with. Something's gotta give.

It is reportedly the same woman. Also the same woman lead away in handcuffs that night. So yes, Barini = naked chick from that night.
