She is described 65 to 70 years of age, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6, brown eyes, grey hair and speaks Spanish.

She was found wearing a dark grey fleece jacket, black fleece leggings, a pink long sleeve shirt, yellow, green and blue flip flops carrying various Metro cards and miscellaneous papers.

A woman in her late 60s was found Thursday in Bethpage, apparently unable to remember her name or where she lives, Nassau police said.

Police said a passer-by found the woman lying on the ground on Adams Avenue at 9:40 a.m.
The woman, speaking Spanish, later told authorities that she remembered getting on an express train at Grand Central Station, police said, but it was not clear if she meant a subway or train, or how she had arrived on Long Island.

Oh, dear! I hope there are plenty of Spanish-speaking staff available to talk with her!

She couldn't have taken a train from Grand Central to Long Island, LIRR trains leaving from Manhattan depart from Penn Station. Maybe she meant an express (which runs during weekdays) 7 subway train from Grand Central? Though, the 7 ends in Flushing and that would be a very long walk to Bethport.

I really hope this isn't a case of Elder Abandonment. :(

That's what I was worried about too.
