where is our little guy? It has been too long and my hope that he was wandering the streets is waning fast.

Something has got to break soon.

He has been gone a week. =( When I saw the word "vigil" this morning my first thought is that they had found his body. Thank goodness that wasn't the case. The vigil will hopefully bring more people together to help them search although I think the family is starting to lose hope just as we are. With all the surveillance cameras you would think somewhere someone would have seen him once he left the school.

$50,000, increased visibility about the search for him, a focused and vocal family, national attention. If Avonte is out there to be found, this will make it happen. Fingers crossed!

I'm in Penn Station, NYC right now (main train station in central Manhattan) and this place is plastered with posters for him, all interestingly headlined "wanted" - they elaborate beneath that he's a missing person. Wanted probably attracts more views. I hope they find him soon - I've got my eyes open!

Could he have ended up in the water and not been found yet? I certainly hope that isn't the case but it might be a possibility.

That is definitely a possibility. His mom would know what his tendencies are near water but I have never seen it addressed in the news articles and interviews.

Caradana, are there a lot of surveillance cameras in and around the stations? Thank you so much for giving us your first-hand reporting. =)

I keep checking and checking ... Waiting for good news.

What about Bloodhounds ???

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Linda, I found this:

"Police have also used dogs to trace Avonte’s scent and have also searched the East River."

“We deployed the bloodhounds there. We were able to trace the young person to a subway station, and we have not been able to confirm that it’s him,” said police Commissioner Ray Kelly said at a press conference."

From this article: http://newsone.com/2736236/avonte-ocquendo-missing-found/

I guess bloodhounds seemed to have traced him to a subway station but they don't say which one.

Do we know if the family has plastered the trains, train stations and the area around every train station with posters? While NY is large and there are hundreds of train stations it could be done fairly easily with a large number of volunteers and somebody to coordinate the effort.

Some mentioned earlier in the thread about convenience stores and newsstands where he might run in and grab a candy bar or something to eat. Shops like these near train stations should be alerted to the fact that he is missing and might be stealing bits to eat.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, my computer is broken, so I am forced to try to follow on a tablet.

I feel like everyone in Queens knows about this case and fliers are everywhere. Cops gave been doing searches on trains 24/7.
Some coworkers of mine are personally searching as well.
