I didn't even think of that but you're probably right. Sad, isn't it?

Very good thinking!

I love your yellow ribbons! You've been one of Avonte's staunchest advocates, Plumeria. Thank you for bringing my attention to this young man.

Please come home Avonte!

I don't think I'd want my kids locked in or out of school grounds, even if I had special needs kids. My thoughts on this again are fire risk. Also, what if a gunman somehow did get into the school (fed ex delivery etc) I'd hate to think the kids were locked inside and not able to run. Or if they arrived late and someone followed them, if the doors were locked they would have to wait for someone to unlock before they would be safe. JMO I personally wouldn't want to be locked inside any facility.

That's easy to get round. For a start, delivery men shouldn't be getting access to the main school, there should be a reception area, somewhere that is secured from the rest of the building. Children arriving late would also come into this area, so they would have a safe haven.

My building has swipe access only doors but in the event of the fire alarm system going off, all the doors will unlock/open, so that shouldn't be a problem either I would have thought in the event of another gunman on the loose, it would actually be safer if you could seal off the building, particularly if you could isolate individual areas. Anything that restricts or slows down the movement of an unauthorised individual.

(and yes, I know.. it all costs, but just wanted to point out "locking the kids in" isn't as drastic as it sounds).

I really can't believe this lad is still missing, I was sure he'd rock up at his old school :(

And I so appreciate you coming over from Amber's thread which had a happy ending. I am hoping that that good luck can come to Avonte as well.

No new tweets from the brother today. This is the first day he hasn't updated. They must all be so exhausted.

My heart breaks for the family, I wonder if there was to much tme spent on trains and not enough on the terrain around the school? He may have gotten confused and losted, gotten into a wooded area.

They are updating the flyer, according to FindAvonte.com. Probably to change the reward, it's over 77,000 now I think....

Has anyone been able to confirm word the TexasEquuSearch is joining the #FindAvonte search effort? Word has been posted on various social media threads (Facebook & twitter), but I haven't been able to confirm on MSM or with Avonte's brother (@KingDetrick).

I just found this thread here and am in the process of playing catch up, so I apologize if this has already been covered.

TIA...

My thoughts & prayers remain with Avonte & his amazing family. The outpouring of support from the community has been utterly incredible. I hope he is found safe soon!

Avonte is listed on TES's web page so hopefully that means TES is getting involved.
