In my opinion, if a woman pushes a frail old 87 year old woman onto hard cement in a drunken rage and kills her, then she should be charged with murder. How dare she attack such a vulnerable person! I pray for justice for Barbara Gustern and hope this spoiled, entitled LAUREN PAZIENZA will go to prison for a substantial term. But I am concerned this may not happen to this so-called "Cesspool Queen" because her parents are spending a lot of money on big shot attorneys. JMO
That's exactly what I said though...

Plea deal negotiations will begin once a prosecution expert finishes a psychological report, which is expected around April 11.

The case has been adjourned until June 15 to give time for the negotiations to take place, though successful negotiations are not guaranteed.

I do not wish to see a plea and will be sorely disappointed. She was only sorry, once she was caught.

She wants to give a card and letter to the victim’s family?!
I don’t buy a bit of this. I think there will be plenty of witnesses to attest to her usual behavior, being quite similar.
I am surprised the fiancee continues to stand by her. I would be thinking about dodging a bullet.
* My opinions.

I think she's a "catch" financially-wise, IMO.

Totally agree on all counts.

"A neighbor previously told The Post that Pazienza has a “simmering rage” and is known in her Astoria apartment building for “screaming” at people."

Run, fiancé run!!! No amount of inheritance is worth dealing with that nightmare!

I also note how the 2 glasses of wine the fiancé said she had before the incident is now "2 bottles of wine, lots of weed, prescription, pills, etc., she was bombed out of her mind..."

Well, I guess this high price lawyer has to earn their money somehow!

Pazienza rejected a second plea deal in July that could have sent her to prison for 15 years.
She remains at Rikers Island. Her attorney is concerned about the effects of the summer heat wave on her. Poor thing.../sarc

I sincerely hope that the judge in this case takes this seriously, and doesn't do something outlandish, like "time served". We have seen people who killed people, get less than 30 days. Or nothing, in some cases.

I believe that the victim in this case, was held in very high regard, maybe that will factor into the sentencing.

“A 26-year-old woman accused of shoving an 87-year-old Broadway vocal coach to the sidewalk and causing her death during a 'wine rampage' has rejected a 15-year plea deal offered by prosecuters for a second time.“

“Lauren Pazienza appeared in court handcuffed on Tuesday where she rejected the plea deal from woke Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's office. She also failed to have her manslaughter charge dropped, according to the New York Post. She faces up to 25 years in prison.“
This article has a great graphic with time, space, location, etc. Also, it has the engagement photo with the bride-to-be with her left hand hugging the fiancé's neck. Reminds me of Jodi Arias's waterfall photo with her hand around Travis's neck. Run, dude, run!

I think this is the first time I've ever heard of bond being revoked when the criminal hasn't done something they weren't supposed to do. I bet she's mad.
This judge is having none of it.

The "I am a 'mentally ill, mean drunk'." defense? I don't see it. Even people who are mentally ill have to take responsibility for their actions. And her elaborate attempt at covering her tracks sort of negates that she was not conscious of her behavior. Or the consequences. Hiding out at parents house? Expecting them to clean up her mess again?

I think that if there is a careful review of her history, there are probably a bunch of similar incidents. That is why the plea deal was just a bone. I believe that if prior bad acts can be admitted, we will find out that this was just one in a long line of other incidents.

Perhaps the "Affluenza" defense? "I am a rich little brat, who doesn't know any better?" Because my parents never made me face consequences of my actions?
Except the Pazienza family is proclaiming that they aren't wealthy and couldn't afford their A-list attorney or the initial bail. They protest that it took a whole extended family and a payment plan to make that possible. So, they've mooted an affluenza defense.

Aidala is saying they would settle for some jail time? That's certainly a change of tune. I'll bet the psychology report didn't support a psychology defense...

Also, from this article (and thank you for posting)..

“Gustern hit her head on the pavement and before losing consciousness told the friend she was with, "I've never been hit this hard in my life."”

I couldn't find any updates since about June. When are we expecting this trial?

I have a feeling that 15 years in New York could well be a "return to, and go on with your life" type sentence".

For example, does 15 years really means say, 7.5 years when commonly given parole possibilities are included? Likewise, could the time of effective incarceration be reduced further by progressive policies centered on half way homes, work release programs etc. ?

In the end, I think the plea bargain is a good offer- especially if her attorney could also work into the agreement a provision in that the DA would not actively oppose any future parole, half way home, or work release type possibilities.

The Cesspool Queen should have taken the 15 years. Because she's going to get 25 years for killing poor Ms. Gustern if she goes to trial, IMO. The court system will not be kind to this spoiled, mean, rich girl. As she should well be aware of by the fact that she is jailed in Rikers Island and not out on bail. My opinion only.

I sure hope she gets over 15 years as that was generous. JMO.

I know it’s irrelevant, but have we ever heard why she shoved this beloved woman to her death?
